Re: 1988 Imperial 280sf engine swap and restoration (pics)
Ok guys, I know ive been absent from my thread for a while, its just my "to do list" has swamped my decks...and infiltrated my Saturdays for now. I was managing to keep up with the house project, barn project, and the boat, but a curve ball from the Internal Redistribution Service (IRS) has me swamped in a ticker tape parade of receipts on weekends, but im starting to get a handle on it all.
As far as the boat goes, I havnt even been in the shop lately, so where I was with that stuff is where I still am, but I did manage to disassemble the bubble, meaning I decoupled the corners, removed the remaining grid and plastic, and pushed the gables and knee walls out to the ground, were almost in the 60's here now, which meant 90's in the bubble, so its done for the summer.
This is how it ended up after the all the snow, about 6 feet total this winter..the most I can remember in a while....
when I put it back up this fall, im gonna redesign the ridge, to handle more weight.
I made progress on the barn, im in the loft area now leveling the floors, they were 6 inches off at the worst spot, so I had to sister in all new floor joists....no new progress on the booth section yet.
I just got the elevation benchmark set at the shore, so the pilings can go in this week, and if all goes well, I can set the modules next month...and have the 3 story, 80% finished reverse living contemporary up.....that's efficiency at its finest...ill post some pics of the pilings and modules being crane set, for anyone interested in how we handle beach dune modular construction in these parts...
Hopefully these messes im dealing with are just a squall, and I can get back on course soon
....I do dream about the boat tho..everyday
