No problem with loose joints now . ;)
Are they gunna fit in the jambs with adding the extra glass around the edges ? I guess you could have trimmed the edges down a bit to allow room for the glass. Or was they set in a jamb ?

Yep, shes a solid frame door now lol

The door sets in a groved teak partial jamb, Sam....it works just like any bifold closet door, where it almost closes, then snaps into place...The teak jamb need sanding anyway, so i figure ill leave it tight to test fit, then sand the jamb groove just enough to get it snug again.

No science or measurements, ill just "work" it til its right.

The close down lid will be next, another tricky endeaver because its broken.....more on that later.

Yea Mike, same white poly as the cockpit and topdecks...im whiting out most everything including white pleated cushions, just leaving some teak accents and the swim platform.

I couldnt work on the door today, it was still tacky, so I made some new tenons for the other door, assembled and glued/clamped it. Just letting it set up now.

when it cures ill fill the voids with pb and continue covering both.

Keeping the old style woodwork looking good on a boat is always tough. So, it is good that you are glassing the doors. These new ones that you showed as an example . . . I am wondering if those are Lexan or something like that?

Yea, refinishing and maintaining those teak doors would be a chore at best...i'd bet the doors in that pic are a composite mold, but I dont have the ability to make a multi dimensional seamless door frame like that, this is the closest i can reasonably expect, based on my skills.

Now the cabin, on the other hand will be all wood vaneer, with a teak and holly sole, and cream soft goods. This is about the same size and layout of mine, and this is the look im going for.....ill be busy for a while :)

nah, paint it pink! (and hang an old timey neon light above the cabin door 'girls girls girls')

That is gona be one nice lookin boat in the end man! I'm hoping to go for a similar theme in my cabin, maybe not AS much wood work, but defiantly the floors and 'lighten up' the existing teak/wood trim. Gives it a crisp newer look.

If you can put a final layer of 3oz on top of that 6oz ( it looks heavier to me) so the weave won't bleed thru. If you don't have any then you'll need more resin to fill the weave but you already know that so I'll shut up and go away now!!!!

If youre refering to the unwetted cloth pic, thats the 8.9oz eglass, good eye ;)...i know the thread doesnt read that way...the wetted pics are what i think is 6oz...its just the cloth from HD next to the 3m poly resin..whatever it is, it shapes well

Bondo? Fiberglass Cloth, 8 Square Feet, 20128

I was planning on filling the weave with a skim coat of west 410, then another coat or two as sacrificial, to sand level.

Nice job, I can't wait to see the final product. The boat will be better than new from the factory.

And guys, im joking, there were alot of interiors back then that used pastels, and im sure there were alot of captains sitting in the lounge bragging that their upholstery shines as bright as their shirt :D

And i remember plenty of pink on my decks, as the guys bled the tuna....good times back then.

And Ted, in any color combo, that SS is a purty girl......

Man she sure is looking good, ive started work on my 84 28ft Bayliner pulled he out about 2 weeks ago, just cleaning her up right now to be able to see in which direction i should be headed first.

Her hull and body is in pretty good shape but the motor is blown that really sucks. That i was gonna be able to just a rebuild. Im sure hoping mine tun out as good as yours is looking.
