Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

You can do it! :) (it's a link:confused:)

Nice work on the deck & bow polish........

Also seems a good place to drop this:

The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers.
But above all, the world needs dreamers who do. ~Sarah Ban Breathnach, 1996

ps. In case it isn't obvious to Ryan, he is 'only' 5 (going on 15)
please let him know his pops falls into the last catagory;)

Looks fantastic!!! you have gotten a lot done... (stern deck turned out incredible).... You have definitely been busier than a one-legged man in a butt kickin' contest... (and winning)...

Friendly productivity pointer, since you are "in the weeds" right now and probably feel like you are "trying to nail jelly to a tree".... Let's get the helm installed, the controls and steering (you can do things like polishing aluminum, ahem, on the trip)....

P.S. Drink proudly from that strategically placed super-man coffee mug... (yeah, we see everything...). You have earned and deserve it...

All I can say is WOW, bow to the MAN, I don't know how you can do it Jas, you must be a lot younger than me. Great job, if you can stay awake the splash this weekend will be awsome.

You guys are really too kind, she's nuttin special, trust me. If you were standing here in the garage you'd see runs, drips and other paint mess ups!

Bear - Rustolium Professional is what I use on everything. Why? Cuz it's cheap and readily available to repair giant gouges from bicycle handlebars. Oh, say like this one that just happened yesterday...

Yup, glad I didn't spend $100/qt on paint and kill myself wet sanding for the past month:rolleyes:

Yup, this boat will be used, get scratched, just the way it is I spose:)

PMC - That cup was a fathers day gif from my boys, I love it! Nothing like a hot super strong cup of black water to start the day:D

K, progress...

Also got another coat of paint on the deck.

And got after my consoles.

Starting profile...
P1080861.jpg

I want these to be sort of "built in" to the bow deck so mod is in order, layout lines...
P1080862.jpg

Cut lines in red...
P1080863.jpg

First I drilled out a big hole...
P1080864.jpg

My hope is that it will kinda contour over/around the routed edge of my deck. We'll see if I can pull it off.

Cut...

Bent and cleaned up...

One down and one to go!
