I also squeezed in some time for the stripped LU drain plug tutorial. Take a look, I hope it helps someone out in the future who find themselves in the same trouble.

I really appreciate the supportive comments from you fellow iboaters. I've been giving some "field boats" in my area the hairy eyeball. So I may be able to talk the admiral into another project boat. This time maybe a glass runabout.
Watermann, just went through all 7 pages....and all I can say is wow, I hope mine turns out this good. But it will not be done this quick. I just picked up a SN SS160, gutted with a mind to restore it. I will start a thread here, and hopefully get some good help like you did!
Question:
On the hull crack in the front (mine has the same crack) did you weld at all? Or just use the 5200/gluvit and what not...Mine is in definite need of welding as the crack is a little wider, but do not want to melt out the rubber seal.
And, the inside of your hull looks like brand new spotless aluminum..is that from the JJV's ? or aircraft stripper?
Ohh no, don't, don't join the dark side. ( heavy audio beathing) waterman i am your father. Join me and built glass boats by my side.....JK hey I can't say much, there is a rotting hulk of a glasser in my driveway that I think I might tackle.....maybe
Welcome aboard jvanhees and it's always good to meet another fellow SN'r! To answer the cracked keel. I used marine tex to repair it, no welding. I used the marine tex to fill in on the inside and then to rebuild the outside where the damage actually came from beaching I would imagine. Once cured I think the marine tex is as strong or stronger than aluminum. I then coated the inside of the keel and rivets with gluvit to seal the deal. The inside of the boat was pressure washed and then I applied the JJV's best and used a scrub pad to work it in and not let the stuff streak up.
I look forward to seeing pics of your SN and restoration thread. Check out the official SN thread where you can post up some pics of your SS160. http://forums.iboats.com/sea-nymph-boats/official-sea-nymph-forum-seanymph-boat-owners-437708.html
Sunny side up... All the decking, hatches and seats are in, Minn Kota bolted down. I pulled her out to sun bathe for the afternoon. My truck then promptly died and wouldn't start back up... I ran the Johnson some, used Seafoam to decarb and then put in some new marine copper L77JC4 plugs.
I also ran the livewell pump and leak checked the plumbing.
I like that cooler setup too, and found the cooler. Should fit perfectly!
I see my self hijacking this cooler design, very nice work. where/how did you do the drain?
