Sure enjoy seeing those nice fish and seems every pic has amazing picturesque backgrounds. Beauty.

At one time we almost completely killed Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes but it has rebounded well even with the gobys, zebra mussels, etc. But to see eagles flying around here in good numbers is something quite amazing. Pretty nice Fathers Day and as you say in a new 35yr old boat. Congrats !

I'll get some more pics of the Starcraft Chieftain up and maybe start a resto thread on her here in the future. We decided that a straight up cruiser was needed that could take some big water that my little SN could only dream about. I see her as a rescue boat sorta like a rescue dog, and she was caged up with some old rotten glassers. I think her new home will be more fitting and the little SN will make great company.

Hey you'll be the first to know when I start up my H20 LLC! Also I found another Starcraft today, a poor old tired Holiday for sale with a 115 HP SPL Rude on it. Sad she was, all restored years ago with now rotten OSB board / vinyl with a wad of fiberglass over the broken transom...Not sure I'm up to the challenge of 2 at once tho.

Re: 1978 Sea Nymph SS160 resto

Since I did a video of the first day of restoration walk around, here is the HD video of the "walk around" on splash day. Sorry it took so long I misplaced the video file so I hope some still have interest. :joyous:

Yeah my old truck sounds nice doesn't it? I really don't like the new hissing poot-mobiles.

I have no idea why I can't get the Youtube embed to work here??? Oh well what's one click?

Ok there we go!

To imbed a YT video, just click on the film icon (second from the far right up there ^^^).

It will pop open a little prompt screen. You past the link there and click okay...

If you are already doing that, then I'm not sure what the issue is.

P.S. Cool video.. boat looks great. that's a pretty lake with the hills in the distance..

Hope the SN is still getting its fair share of use.

"Tin Addiction" is a great tag.

So I was surfin for where to get Sharx and see you wrote a review on Jamstwn. Very nice.

I was also reviewing your thread today as while crawling around in the hull found a crack in one of the hat channel ribs. Not quite as severe as yours but geez oh man you sure have to be attentive. Thought I had found everyone of those bad boys.

Curious, how far can you travel either way, on the Columbia before you encounter a dam?

More cracks to repair? Oh man that's not good but at least you found it. The ole Chief has been checked over twice now and I've found nothing cracked as of yet.

It depends on which pool you launch in the Columbia but on average it's probably 40 miles. Lake Roosevelt it near me above Grand Coulee Dam and you can drive over 100 miles clear to BC Canada.

Great thread! Im new here and just picked up a 80 SN thats 16.5ft and has the same motor as yours. Little boat flies at 36-37mph. Mine has 4 bench seats and a console but I would love to do the inside like yours someday. Thanks for the morning read and a great resto! Congrats!

Re: 1978 Sea Nymph SS160 resto

It was a great summer with a few modifications but no problems what so ever on my fishing adventures. Time to think about the winter nap. I wasn't happy with the cheap little pole that came with the cover so I spent about 25 bucks on some schedule 80 conduit and fittings to come up with this cover support.

Now she's ready after winterizing the motor and batteries.

Until the walleye start the pre-spawn bite in February that is.

Great looking cover support system

I can attest to it's functionality. Works great. Currently using more then 1 built almost exactly the same.

Sleep tight SN.

Support looks solid H2O!

The garage fridge is going to need some company on those long, cold nights. Will the Chieftan fit??

Great looking frame, this is exactly what I want to do this fall. Snow shed and no pooling, I'm going to have to spend the $25 and get this done soon too. Nice work man!
