That was funny, I finished typing to publish my comments above and pictures showed up! Guess we were posting at the same time! The boat looks great!

Yea I saw that as well.

We some how got lucky the last few days with a cool front moving in that dropped the temps AND the humidity. This morning we tied a record for a low of 60 degrees. That is unheard of in August. But I'll take it any day, especially in the summer. We have not officially hit 100 yea this summer either. Our high thus far was 98. A very mild summer be normal standards.

I did get the hull flipped though. And while I was still soaked from sweat, It was bearable. :thumb:

Nice! Progress will really move along now that you have her facing right-side-up! The lines and number do look good too 👍

With your qualifications the electronics will be a breeze 😀

Ha thanks guys for the nice words. I certainly do appreciate you all commenting about this long lengthy project.

I didn't work on the hull today, but I did order the carpet now. Odd how you try to get enough carpet to cover all your needs and try to fit it into what they offer in their precut sizes. I hope I ordered enough because there is nothing more upsetting then doing a carpet job and running out. I use to install carpet as a living long long long long time ago. So I know to keep the nap running all the same direction so it looks right during install. So I added up all the square footages and also the amount needed to fold up under the hatch lids and I think I got it all covered. We will see.

Yea but you see there is the difference. You actually catch fish, I mostly try.

Every boat I ever owned had carpet and I didn't find it hard to keep clean at all. But I do like that fact that it is so much quieter then most anything else. And I like to slip up on fish, especially crappie when their spawning season is running high. Seems they like to congregate in a few select spots and I can easy up to them quietly that way. :noidea:

Well the carpet has come in and now I can start back on the boat. But the weather has gone to daily rain storms. So if it isn't one thing, it is another. I guess I can work around the storms, but laying out carpet to cut has to be done on dry concrete or something similar. And with the pop up storms we are getting, hard to get get dry payment to work with. We will see. If there is a will, there always will be a way.

Some areas of the hull has to have carpet installed first and then the rub-rail, while other areas have to have the rub-rail installed first. So this will be an interesting install for sure.

I'll snap pictures for prof along the way.

Pretty soon the next season will be here. Just enjoy the process or you'll relive your regrets every time you go crappie fishing right!?!

Well I did get some boat things done today. But nothing worthy of pictures...yet. I fought the intense heat and over whelming humidity and plugged the holes I drilled in the front deck to install the lifting fixture to flip the hull over for painting, and flip it back right again.

So I mixed up some poly with Cabosil and 1/4" chopped fiberglass and filled in the holes and some other little areas that were begging for some poly fill. And it was hot. I mean so hot that I am sure I dropped a few ounces of sweat into the mix as was just mixing it up initially. But I got it done and gave up for the day. The heat takes the wind out of my sails really quick. The actual temp is 93, but the humidity is also like 90 percent. So the feel like temp is 104 according to the local weather report. Too hot for me.

While I was cutting open some other areas getting ready for carpet installation, I did come across a huge birds nest inside the hull. Those poor little birds built a mansion in one of the rear storage compartments. And I mean a huge nest. But there were no eggs, so I had to remove it being how it was upside down now. I was amazing how much stuff I removed from that nest. Birds are amazing to see how hard they work to built homes for their eggs. And I am really sorry I interrupted their livelihood. But I honestly didn't see it until today. :blue:

Hopefully I can get a break in the heat so I can proceed with the carpet. I'll get it done...

Take heart! Our 100? stretch finally snapped. I'm confortably sitting on the back porch for the frst time in months. It will reach you soon I'm sure. I have a hard enough time working in 100? weather with 20% or less humidty. That sounds rough.

This month carpet, next month the wiring... Next year fishing :-D

Well the heat hasn't subsided, but another life event has happened. Nothing serious but still interesting.

A couple days ago the wife and I coming home from lunch in our 1995 Ford Ranger Pickup (we like to drive it occasional to keep everything working) decided to not want to move anymore at a red-light. Seems the clutch wasn't engaging. The clutch seemed to work. At lease it pushed in and out, but the clutch wasn't locking up to go. After sitting there and making others angry behind us, it finally started to move again. So we drove towards home while we had it moving again. But I could press the gas and the RPMs rived up without going faster. Sounds like clutch replace time.

Yes the truck only has 115,000 stop and go local miles on it in 22 years. They just don't make things to last anymore.

So it seems I now have another thing to fix. But I am not complaining, just stating how life changes things near about instantly. We are not stranded, but I like to have things working and no broken down things sitting around.

I am still working with the boat in between other things. I hope by the time I get this boat finished, we still have fish in the waters and they all haven gone extinct. :noidea:

I decided to post this update to let others know I am still alive and well. I haven't finished the boat...yet. But have bought most everything I'll need to finish now. So once I get anything done, I'll post the final results. I just haven't wanted to read or post daily anymore. I have to admit, not as interested as I once was and really want to finish this now to get it off my list. Oh well, later.

It's easy to get off track when life gets in the way. Glad to see you're still with us.
