Good luck w the swap.
How'd Jen take the swapping motor news?
She's always happy to hear me talk about safety stuff especially when I'm including the kiddos.

Looking forward to seeing how the sea trial #2 or 3 or whatever, turns out.
You'll get her sorted out. Jas. Then she will have the power to match the looks.
So engine is in - how long before Splash II. That 22' is going to fly.
Did you change the outdrive ratio or gonna play with props?
Was the V8 destined for the big Islander?
Yeah, sometimes a guy just gets tired of messing around trying to fix stuff over and over again. BTDT. Am selling my garden tractor for that very reason.Hey, the great news is I actually got the V8 in place, aligned, and bolted down last night, that was awesome! That was a long day yesterday but I got a lot done. I'll see if I can get the rest of the rigging done this morning. So soon hopefully!
Well, I don have the drive that came with this V8. I don't know it's condition so I need to open it up and check out the water pump, swap out the gear oil, stuff like that.
I really hate to take a bath on that brand new SEI drive I bought especially since I still have the no fault warranty in place. That's tough to swallow, ugh.
Yup, the Sportfisherman was supposed to be getting this V8. But two things...
1. It'll be a while before I can get to that big 26 footer, I'm still short one pole barn before I can tackle that project.
2. I'm done playing with I/O's. I have had my fun. That boat will get an outboard on a bracket with a kicker, something about like...
I understand, I'm thinking you should be able to use the V6 drive with the 23p prop, that drive was geared for up to 220 hp and your V8 is 260hp you may have to go to a 4 blade prop but it won't be a problem.

Best of luck in a speedy swap!
Yup, that's what I was thinking too. That no fault warranty means a lot to me. There are rocks up at my place, big ones! It really wouldn't be that hard to trash it.
The bonus would be I could potentially be up and running tomorrow, maybe even tonight :thumb:
I dunno, still on the fence about the drive yet....
Yah, I've had enough, I give, no problem, I have the solution to make my boat run (hopefully). A fellow smarter than I can figure out the V6. He'll get a great deal on this engine and I'll be boating, win/win.
Too bad it's so far up here I need a v6 for my Chief
Jas - Did you get the SEI complete upper and lower or just the lower? My memory doesn't go back that far.
Male models aren't known for great memories, it's all good.
I've got a complete 1.81, new with warranty and a complete 1.47 used. Still kinda on the fence on which I should keep and run.
I am good looking!
Enough of that - What's on the back of Goldfish II? The one in the future pole barn and is gonna be bracketized.
