Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

On August 12th, 2012 on Man vs. Boat (season 1), Post #919, Jas gave us this little simple statement in regards to Pmccraney and the hull 'issue' he was attempting to fix.

Tearing apart stuff you just built, ah sheesh, this is just painful man!

Clearly, the man's crazy!

My vote would be a strictly fishing front deck with a massive rod locker,..

It think you'd have plenty of room in the back for passengers on a "cruise",...........

It's rare that I ever see anyone sitting on the bow of a bow rider,..............

OK fellas, yah, I may be a little  I'll not argue that, it's cool :becky:

All right, so, I've been plugging along here on the new deck structure. I laminated and installed a new bulkhead joining it up with the original bulkhead making the whole piece a fat 2 1/4", bomber. Then I installed a pair of new 1" stringers laminating those to the original structure too. Check it out...

I'll install two more stringers tomorrow morning (hopefully) and then some cross members later this week.

Just keeping the blades turning here guys:joyous:

Those do like like glass bloat stringers... Nice job, though - should be beefy...(assuming you tab them in with fillets and some mat/1708).

Jas, I was kind of wondering what you were going to do with 2 cabin boats when the SN was traded.

I like the idea of a Bowlander and was waiting for option 3.5, but 3 looks good to go.

Nice.

BTW - you need to change the thread title to the Re-Rebuild and the name of the boat might be changing too.

After the family has grown and left the nest you could turn it into a CC.

Dood, we know how these fights end! One rig gets hauled to the landfill while the other bolts on all the good pieces stripped - HA!!!:afro:

Keep those wheels turnin'....

YUp, I just need to keep plugging away here, I'm bound to reach the end at some point!

I really like how the design is coming together...

I'm hoping it'll be a comfortable spot for ridin around:joyous:

I bet the Bowlander is happy your not still cheating on her with that big hussie.

BIG HUSSIE! HA! That's good man.

Yah, the Islander will appreciate a couple of pieces I tore out of the 261 here next week some time. Then she'll feel all better:love:
