Whew, next thing he would be ordering foam from U.S. composites and it would be all topsy turvy!!!:D Sorry it isn't working out on the fir, how bout a horizontal cleat on the cabin side top and bottom to hold it together with foam between and cover that side in vinyl??? or stick with the mahogany ply plan. I am sure whatever you do will look sweet!

You have to watch me chase my tail here
One of the top 10 suggested additions to the 2014 Mudder

No suggestions as to what aspect of the Islander this 'good' idea affects? Tantilizing....

I am definitely getting a "battery placement", deja vu feeling here......or a "should I cut the cooler down to fit, or build the pedestal up to fit" kinda vibe...ya know???;):D

Me thinks ol' Jas plays the indecisive to bump up post numbers. Attention seeker perhaps.... :D

Howdy Low, and thanks for posting up eh!

Really sorry I don't have any special progress at the moment. I did work some more on the bulkheads this morning, I'm pretty optimistic with how those are turning out anyway.

I feel like a real boob compared to all these other guys burning through their projects. I'm so slooooowwwwwww:facepalm:

I may try to sneak in some fishing again tonight though:becky:

Yeah right, slow for a production oriented boat factory...maybe...
Only guy I am aware of who in his spare time has restored, rebuilt, recycled or refurbished like a half a dozen or more boats in only about a year and a half......slow...HMmmmmmph!

I wish I were that slow... Gus, aren't you and I on a year and half just on one boat each and still not done?

Guys, in all fairness, yur dealing with a mess likened to a nuclear fall out zone, high level toxic waste, Geohazard Supersite type stuff, ya know. Cleaning up that mess takes some time you know:rolleyes:

OK, I've been working a little bit anyway.

I've got my strength issues ironed out on using that fir, if I go that route (more on that later). Here's one of the bulkheads, shaped, sanded, layer of glass/epoxy (one side), dry fit...

Try to get the vision of grey cockpit with white vinyl...

So I need yur opinion, ugly? Or does that look good?

I'm not so sure???? I think I like it:noidea:

IMHO it looks awesome, and I think it'll go great with those colors. Natural wood and any color works for me.
