Oh & before I go, I didn't miss that "good luck w/ that" comment above Jas!

If you are itching to cut up another glasser, I just found the perfect donor boat, before you ruin that poor Islander w/ the sweet running 4.3 ya got planned:

I'll even help, as long as I can pilfer the seats! Not for the 60 FireFlite, but for a future to be named later project.....:p:rolleyes:

I hope jas is ready for the mob with this complete lack of pictorial progress on anything in weeks.

Last word was there were fortifications, buttresses, ballistas, and a standing army of fiberglass drugged soldiers numbering in the thousands, being installed around the perimeter of his property...

The Glass Pak mob has also dispatched it's spies. You sir, are being watched........:D Important tinny components may randomly disappear or be moved into that handy ~ keep it close spot, we all like to think we've left the really important bits!

[Please ignore 'new' artificial' trees & poorly constructed gilly suits, those are Real Trees that grew naturally overnight! Geneva conventions apply to all prisoners of war, captured during recon activities in preparation of the siege!]

Ok, it's been a very long time but here is an actual update (short but legit).

I pushed the Islander back into the garage, ready for action!

I completely forgot how little space I have to move around and work in there, it's tight! Man working on that Jet alone in the garage really nice.

You'll see the trailer tongue on the garage floor there, three bolts and it was off. Not a swing away trailer but I'm working it like it is:)

Sorry about the cell phone photo, puter is still smashed at the moment.

Cheers!

I must admit that a two car garage seems to be much more useful as a two boat garage...:D

Someday, when I have just a little money, I'd like to build a nice boat house for those:)

It's nice to see the family is doing great. Both the boat family and the immediate family :)

Merry Christmas man. We all have a lot to be thankful for. Now we just need some warm weather to float these things.

On a lake with a view...

Bah, I know I'll never have that kind of money. All good though :)

Then you have to be like the rest us rednecks and call it an outbuilding, impliment shed, or something else. :D

Just a progress accountability post here...

Pulled the cover off the Islander, stood and stared. Man, I have a really long way to go:facepalm:

I spent a couple of hours just getting the garage organized since space is so limited in there.

For motivation I hung my Mercruiser Marine Tech sign up right over where I'll be wrenchen...

I am certainly no marine engine tech, but for the next couple of months I am totally going to pretend that I am:D

Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

Hope you guys had a fantastic Christmas!

.....................................................

The Mercruiser install has started:

Yesterday I got the Inner Transom Plate all cleaned up and ready to go.

This morning I pulled the bottom adnode and trim rams off of the Gimbal Housing and got that all cleaned up.

Feels good to get my hands on this driveline gear:)

Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

The mob has begun preparations for late 2011 splash! How does ringing in the New Year afloat in the Islander sound?:D

Tow rig ready, CHECK
Trailer read, CHECK
Great big bite outta the back filled, aahh, hhmmmmm <-- Insert a CHECK here before proceeding with final checklist items:facepalm:
Does it float, aahhh, hhmmmmm (please see above & confirm check there before attempting to check this item off.......)

Ok, let's call it a float test. Did you hard pipe any of your Tide containers? For ballast tanks? Load leveling port to stern? :D

Island TIDE-L Wave

Man, that has to really stoke the resto fire, getting started on 1 of the last big pieces of the put back. And you already know motor runs!:)

Congrats on getting greasy! I'm not particularly mechanical, but I do enjoy working with wrenches & sockets and getting my hands dirty working on an old car, truck, boat......

Finished reading both of your threads xmas eve & really nice work on both boats & both threads! Thanks for the great work & sharing it here. I hope I can count myself amongst the mob's prey, pushing towards completion & splash in 2012. Rather then 'just' a mob rabble-rouser....

Have a safe & happy new year, and may we all make great strides w/ few set backs on these our chosen passions, crazy as it may seem to our wives, families & others.....

Jas, you are bad. Move Mama back home and throw the little kid to the curb. Tsk, tsk, tsk. LOL

Good to see you on the Islander again. Guess the Jet about done.

Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

JB - yah feels good gettin rolling on the driveline, though I'm stuck already. I need the gasket that goes between the transom and the bell housing. My two nearest marine dealers are closed this week and my local West Marine doesn't carry it, rats. Going to have to order.

GA - I'll put some time on the Jet tomorrow;)

Drew - I'm growing tired of doing puter stuff on my phone but it'll be at least another week before I can get my laptop out and on it's way.
