Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

Why do I have to wait so long? MC

not in the boat yet buddy

Oh geez, not this thread again

Better than another MG vs. Ext Grade ply thread:p

Barely:)

I know Jason has not had to refuel for about 2 years. Contrary to what he says, fuel Econ. is great. Hole shot is bad because the hole in the transom is huge, but not as big as it used to be. Updates begin again shortly after Black Friday after the Jet splash - Right Jas?

Yah, winterizing was a snap this year too!

Yup, you got it. While my turkey dinner is settling I'm hoping to be backing this big girl into the garage:)

Jas - you listening? The mob is getting restless! :p

TII

I am so not afraid of The Mob.

They are easily distracted by shiny objects and potato salad:)

Darn right - By secret ballot Jason was picked to hide the eggs in the lake for the First Annual Stamada Easter Egg Hunt. Better not disappoint us kiddies.

Whoooph, I just looked at the calendar, April 8. IIIiiiiiiii, don't think I can pull that off. Maybe IF EVERYTHING goes perfectly (yah right:rolleyes:).

I'll not be committing to any deadlines this early, no way! After the Merc is installed and running, then we'll talk maiden voyage date:)

When I first started reading this thread, I thought it would be done with how many posts there are. Now I want an islander, even though yours isn't done yet. Unfortunately, I can't find any in my area.... :(

Update your profile with your location and start hanging out in the Starcraft section. You'll have one before too long ;)

Yup, like EZ said...

Head on over to the Starcraft section, we are serving up some sweet cool aid. Take a swig and join the brohood;):D

Geesh man. This thread is so old EZ might have to lock it before you get this one done.

In retrospect I should have held off for an Islander but I'd prolly still be looking. Love that model and always keeping an eye out for one.

My problem is that I can't find any within 500 miles! Makes me sad.

I think the NE is a tough place to find em, bummer.

Here in the Great Lakes area, every other back yard shed has one sitting next to it (ok, bit of an exaggeration):)

Skagen lets just go get Jason's. You and I can alternate weekends with it.:D He's so dammed busy he wont even notice.

No Islander resto candidates around here at all. I might have a lead on a 18' Starchief hull near buy if your interested.

Sorry, if I'm going klepto on someone's boat, I'm not sharing. And go ahead and send me a link on that starchief. I'm really not picky right now between the Chieftain, Islander, or Starchief. I might have a line on an Islander in PA. Only 5 hours away, and I could visit my grandmother!

Re: 1976 22' Starcraft Islander Rebuild

Jas has been instrumental in my current obsession with the Starcraft cabin boats (along with the other restores) and I've just come to the determination that it's going to be a 6-10 hour drive to find one. Any of them! Or a Sylvan. Not many around here at all, but that won't stop me. My best buddy (and boat lover) just got a Tahoe and is always down for a roadtrip.
Now get done with that "Jet" (can you really call it that now?) and get to the Islander!
Is the kitchen done? :p

I wish I lived in Portland Oregon already. There's quite a few of them in that area, right near where my brother lives. DANG IT!

Most of those west-coast rigs will have some corrosion from the salt, so Michigan is the best place to shop;)

Maybe I'll pick one up on my way through to the west coast. Though hopefully, if i can find one from along the Columbia, it will have been used in the river, not the ocean. However, if you want to tow one to me here in Delaware, I'll be more than happy to give it a good home!
