I love the seating arrangement in those newer ones.

Yah me too. Big, open, like it.

Here is what I am thinking. Big black dot is the doghouse, two little blue dots will be lift out (or swing/flip out) jump seats...

I really like the outboard on that newer one :) Nice choice of a sample pic for how it should look after you convert to OB JAS:D

OB on a bracket (or twins even) would be so cool! Let me just check my Bracket/OB fund here....

Uh, never mind:rolleyes:

What about an I/O/O/B combo? That bracket looks like it sticks out far enough to be past the end of the outdrive from an I/O, then you could hang twin outboards to either side of the I/O outdrive.

Best of both worlds right?

I miss that one guy - was it "seanymphstriper"?

You could take two islanders and set 'em side by side and weld 'em into a catamaran - then weld a helicopter to the platform between the boats. And maybe a spaceship too.

He was entertaining for sure:)

With Papa's set up there ^^ you get a TON of reserve bouyancy.

Great for open water, and you could add some sails;)

The angry mob got him! I think. Your option above is a much better idea than his! But why weld down the helicopter? :D

Pfew! Finally finished! Flesh it out a little when you're done and submit to publisher! Big $$$ "Jason and the Islander Saga"
Seriously though, great read. Feel like I know you now!
My thoughts have been with your family for the past several days and will continue to be in the future.
Now I gotta go find me an Islander!

ER - I'm honored you would take the time to work your way through my thread. Really I am.

Kinda like PR implied there, you have just scanned over a cool/fun project for me. Unfortunately and sadly, this past year has easily been the darkest and most heart breaking year of my life.

I am looking forward to getting back on the Islander and ultimately having some fun times in the summers to come:)

OOPS' hull extension thread

Are we counting the "hull extension thread" as an actual boat rebuild. I know it's supposed to be the "king" of the glitter boat (bondo boat) threads, but come on. All sorts of yammering on about CSM, 1708, cabisol, Mat, cloth, cloth, Mat, grinding, more grinding, more grinding, blah, blah, blah..... What is all that stuff? Who the heck is Mat. Who even knows???

Heck, by my count there are exactly 14,378 posts about...

peanut-butter.jpg

That's right peanut butter! Peanut butter this, peanut butter that, oh how I love your peanut butter, on and on and on! Shoot, those guys talks about it so much they shortened it to PB! I mean seriously.

PB should be like two posts and that's it. Watch:
