Re: 1974 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB refit

Thanks guys. It would have been more fun to blow up the old garage but it's too close to the house. Admiral thinks I should install a 46" LED with surround. What a gal!

Now after busting arse on 2 back to back projects I can finally relax. Problem is now I have too much time to do that and my new project is finding another job:faint2:. Going to be a tough Christmas but we'll do better than others and we're thankful for what we have. At least the Admiral is still employed and we don't live beyond our means. Just wish it was summer all over again!

Good to see you all again!

Jobs, jobs, dang jobs. Sorry to hear that, MP. Didn't you start a new job in the past year? Good luck!

Your correct. Started this one in January this year. I'm hoping to be called back, they are just waiting for new orders to come in anytime. Some say the election results have something to do with it but I don't know and certainly don't want to get into that here. At least I have the man cave and some projects to keep me occupied.
Thanks.

I just got called back to work starting next week. It was kinda nice to have a few weeks off but it's not a vacation unless you know where your next meal is coming from. Now I need to clean up some projects I started. Never ends..LOL

Thanks for stopping by folks.
I've been having a blast with this boat and the 16 SS is getting lonely. Over the last few weeks the Chief has been in the new SC hanger getting some goodies installed. Binimy, kicker, swim platform, drink holders and potty. We are totally fitted out and getting alot of second takes and rubber necking on the lake.

Here are a couple shots of what I came up with for the Admirals helm. Has a removable table and lots of storage.

Spent all day on the water yesterday and she does well with 4 medium adults on board. I can't be happier with my decision to go with a belly tank and both batteries forward. The 90 Rude kept us on plane at 3200 rpm @ 20mph on GPS. With that load max speed was 34 mph (37 with 2 adults) but the motor had to be trimmed all the way down to keep from porpoising. Handles a 2' chop really well. I put 2 of those folding chairs in back and everyone was comfortable.

Won't Rocky be upset? Gonna use the Boris and Natasha Guide Service?

Everything looks really good, MP. The Merc kicker looks so dinky compared to the Rude. :) The Admirals helm - :thumb:

Lookin' really sharp MichaelP! All of the new goodies are perfectly integrated!

not to mention, the admiral's helm table gave me some ideas for a bait prep table!

GAB - I'll just take out Rocky too. ;) No guide service needed. The kicker does look outta place but it lets me troll down to about 1/2 mph for Lakers and maxes out at around 7 mph.

WOG - Cool man, Thanks!

CW - I've been rubbernecking your boat all morning. Looks great!

BF- When the Admiral is away...The bait will______
