Thanks Jason. Funny, I was posting on your thread when you were posting here.

400K members! Holy crap, thats 1/4 of the population of Maine in summer!

I really need to upgrade from this DSL connection because these pages are painfully slow to open. That's all I can get in my area for now here in the sticks.

Here is how I attached the steering arm for the kicker. Cost about $12 in parts from McMaster and I made the rest.Works good but when I tilt the kicker up it has to come off. No big deal.

I realize this is a wicked old thread, but was wondering if you ever sold that old splashwell,, Ive got a 72 Islander and ive been on the fence about installing a bracket... I think if I converted it to a transom mounted engine and splashwell,, knee braces installed it would do what i want without the expense of a bracket..and still free up alot of room in the boat..

Yes I ended up selling the old splash well to another member.
