Look under "Epoxy Resin and Hardener Systems" and they're under the 635 Epoxy listing for $6.25/set of 2 with choices of 1:1 up to 4:1.

Hey, I appreciate what you said. You have the same influence on my progress just so you know.

Hey, I forgot to mention Robbankstons thread as well. He and his outlaw wood master are kickin their boats butt as well! Thought I wrote his in there too. My bad, sorry Rob!

ok, so I am finally feeling decent again so I got back in the garage today. Its about time! I started by chalking and drawing lines on all the substructure wood that needed to be cut down to the correct height. I am VERY happy with how it all turned out. Running a straight edge across the stringers and bulkheads shows them all to be the Exact right and same height! Lucky... I also checked with a piece of 1/2" thick wood to see where the deck would meet the outer edges of the hull and I feel very comfortable with how that should turn out. The bow seat and walkway should still fit like they should. Rear of the consoles I have let the deck rise about 1/2" from where it was due to an odd factory step all the way around the deck/hull seem. It just made sense.

On to pictures

I dont know if you can see or not but I rounded over the ply as I did with the outer strings.

Then after making that mess, should have taken a pic of the mess cutting, routing and grinding the ply down made:eek:, I shopvaced the whole boat out and cleaned all the crap that had been collecting inside.

Then I started laying out the glass that my wife and I precut a while back. It was just rough cut to the dimensions not fitted. So that is what I did. I am using 1708 here as well and 2 layers overlapped by 2" for the center string and one layer for all the rest.

Here you can see how I am glassing the drain holes. I am just cutting the arch out then letting the piece lay down inside the hole. WIth this and the pvc PBed in, there is no wood exposed to water:)

boat004.jpg

I have removed all the pieces of glass and laid them out on the edge of the boat and re vacced the hole thing. Tomorrow I will acetone then start glassing. I am going to try to start early so wish me luck and I hope I can get some progress again...

Looks great! How did you cut the tops down while they were in place?

I still owe you that deck templating video. I may just post it on youtube as is, as it doesn't seem as though I'll ever get around to editing it . The best part of making the deck is when you glass the deck boards.. you get to put them on saw horses and actually stand upright.. an amazing feeling after being in an inverted U shape for the entire stringer process :)

I'm planning my fuel situation and need to order my tank. For some reason, the question popped into my head but are you planning on running your fuel lines up through the deck or going to drill into your bulkhead?

Yeah, I am going to need that soon! I dont want to jinx myself so nevermind...Its all good if you dont, I have winged my way this far, I am sure I can figure it out once I sit and stare at it for a half a beer:D I would like to see how you did it though. That is always helpful. How is your build doing? I saw you back on page 6 next to my thread a minute ago...

That was something that I though long and hard about and finally keeping with my no holes in wood below deck modo I decided to run them straight up then build a small box a few inched tall on all 4 sides to keep the water from running down into it. Of course the top will be open and I will glass the sides. I just couldnt figure any other good way of doing it. Also, I wanted the hose to be as short as possible ,have you looked at the price per foot?

Good luck tomorrow but don't kill your back!

If I didn't have to coat my asphalt driveway tomorrow, I'd make the drive over to lend a hand. :(

Hey thanks for the offer;) Sounds like you are gonna need more help than me! At least it isnt going to be terribly hot. Oh, and dont curse at having to seal your drive, at least you have a paved drive. I only have gravel. My drive is 300 feet long, just couldnt bring myself to spend as much for a asphalt drive as I spent for my car:rolleyes: someday:cool:

Have fun tomorrow! We will get together soon enough. Did you end up rebuilding your carbs? Still need help?

The driveway shouldn't be too bad since my neighbor is going to help out.

I haven't touched the motor since I took it off. I'm trying to get as much glassing done before it turns cold as I do my grinding and sanding outdoors.

that is my plan as well. I have a heated garage so I can do all the motor work over the winter but I wont be able to grind without pulling the boat out in the drive. I couldnt imagine having to do that in the winter:mad: My goal is to get the cap back on and pull the boat out and recover it. I have to get it out for the winter as we park our cars in there. Ohio is not the place to leave a car out through the winter, it is a huge pain to have to start the car every morning to thaw it out. Have I mentioned I hate winter?

I've been here my entire life. I grew up in the country without a garage so I'm quite used to having to thaw out the car. Since we moved to the city, my wife on the otherhand is used to the garage but her car is getting booted from the garage this winter for the boat project. :D

I'm with you, I'm a hater when it comes to winter!

The worst part for me is that I did a 6 year stint in colorado springs colorado and the winters in ohio suck wayyyyyyyyyyy worse than there. At least there is it sunny 320 days a year so when and if it snows it does so at night then the sun is bright and shiny the next day and it is all gone...since moving here I swear to god there have been big snows that only dump 4" and it is on the ground for the ENTIRE winter. Not to mention that in another 2 months we wont see the sun again until april...AHHHHHHHHHHHH I hate ohio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, well, didnt set the world on fire by any means but vikadin( Lowkee's suggestion) got me out and working again in the C shape that just kills me. I just cant get myself to do enough to matter... After the outer stringers I have not been the same:( About an hour, two max is all I got. But, I was able to get a few more pieces of the puzzle completed. I was able to get the forward tank bulkhead and the two side tank supports glassed with the one layer of 1708.

Here are some pictures.

Hopefully I can get the rest of the glassing done on the few pieces left this week so that I can get moving on the deck, if Lowkee ever posts that video! Anyone have any tips on how to measure and cut a deck? I will take any suggestions:D

wow, it is really easy to see how thick 1708 is by looking at the difference between the one layer on the items that I just glassed and the outer stringer that has 2 layers:eek: One layer can allow you to still see the woodgrain and color, but once you add that 2nd layer, you cant see it anymore.

anyone see anything wrong with me only using one layer on the tank supports since they dont play any significant role is structural support?
