It's a fishing boat, (or I guess any boat for that matter) so it's never really done.

Next thing you know you'll want to extend your front deck, then, one of the Humminbird SI/DI depthfinders, then, then, then, then.....It doesn't end.

Very nice work!:)

Have yous thought about putting a "Ram" stabilizer on the trolling motor???

It will bounce quite a bit both while trailering and when running on the water, And that is bad for the head unit which houses the control board,....

Just throwing it out there to try to save yous a possibly expensive headache in the future,......

I don't think the seating is ghetto just the execution. LOL got any more info on that fancy mount you got going there?

All teasing aside CONGRATULATIONS on a fancy nonfancy fishing boat it looks good. And Thanks for bringing us along on the journey.

That's just beautiful! Congrats on completing it!

Thanks Drew!

Yah fellas, agreed. I had to draw the line somewhere so I thought this was a good spot :D

I have a short list of "additional stuff" that yet needs to be completed. I'll post up on that later this week after I stew on it some.

I actually have a strap that locks everything down, it's really solid actually.

Thanks truck!

Yah, all I did was mount a pair of stainless steel tie downs along with some cam straps. Way easy. I know it's not a "built in, factory sort of look" but the function is certainly there. I just blocked it up with closed cell foam (old army issue sleeping mat). Piece of cake to put in and take out of the boat. I think if I like how that setup works I may make a permanent base for it, we'll see.

For the stern deck, just two 3/4" pieces of plywood laminated and a full length stainless steel piano hinge. Simple. No wonder I couldn't figure it out:rolleyes:

Any chance you can get her wet, or is everything iced in?

Read on:D

I saw a window and I took it!

I headed to the Tittabawassee River, just a few minutes from my door to the dock.

The wind was just like the weather man said, sustained at about 30 and gusts at 50 so I really didn't want to go to the lake. While the river was fine the wind was just whipping through there! And at about 25 degrees it kinda felt like January in Michigan, in a boat. When I pulled it out of the river the whole stern/OB was iced up. All in all it was a great ride!

I hope to return here in a few months, running this Jet, for the walleye opener.

Cheers guys!

Well Duh, Dood. Did you look at the calendar? I liked the spray Xmas tree snow on the bow deck. Trying for sympathy, huh?

In all seriousness, you got two rides in he Jet and many more to come. :D Now come Spring, don't ride around in the Jet when you should be finishing the Islander.

Congrats! The boat looks fantastic. I like the way the stern deck came out, and there ain't nothin ghetto about a cooler for seating! Seriously, you did a great job. Have some celebratory pie..... and cake. cake is good too.

Sorry old chap, you just can't win w/ this mob: Keep the Admiral happy so you can work on the Jet/Islander, but kitchen/honey-do's keep you from working on the Jet/Islander. Now splashing the 'finished' Jet, left the Islander lonely & wanting attention:facepalm:. And an unfinished Islander just won't do once the walleye's are hitting in the spring & your out on the river in the Jet....

Yep no winning here either:

I do like the pfd stowage/containment area: behind the starboard fuel cell..... Man that was a chilly run, no windscreen & 25 out of the wind. What does that convert to at WOT? -25? Just thinking about it made my teeth hurt.

Congrats again!

Congrats! Looks great. That's a super functional fishing machine there that will just be super simple to own and maintain. For comparison, I tried to find an equivalent new boat and from what I'm looking at, to buy a boat similar boat, you're going to be in the $12k minimum range and most I saw were sporting less horsepower.

Soon enough, dad duty & taking the boat out can be the same thing:D

This^^^

You will really enjoy this boat for it's ease of launching and retrieving when you have the kids with you. I was just starting to be able to take my 4 year old out by myself towards the end of last season and look forward to a ton more of that next year.

I may have missed this, but how did you attach the step/storage to the bow of the boat?

I have been working out a little fuel tank platform for the front of my jet star in my head, and I'm having a hard time figuring out the best way to secure it.

Great job! can't wait to see that thing loaded with kids and fish all over the place.

Honorable mention at the 2012 SOTY award gala is in order for 1st official splash of 2012.

A small windshield would look good on that console and I'll bet you had one on that trip. Hope you had your long johns on dood!

Congrats!!!!!!

Thanks fellas! Yah, it was a pretty quick run as my face froze right off as I motored against the wind. I thought to myself...

"Holy cow do I need a windshield!!!! MY FACE IS FREEZING RIGHT OFF!!!"
