Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

I know that this thread has been going for a while and I will go through it better...but I just wanted to comment on it as this boat looks a lot like the one that I had back in the late 80s. Mine was fiberglass with a 50hp Mercury on it...I remember the steering had clothes line on it and ran down both sides of the boat. I only had it out a couple of times and the steering pulley broke off the hull both times. I found something bigger and better (of course in my mind) and sold it later that fall.

Looks good Jasoutside!!

Happy New Year.

Hey guys, thanks for stopping by and keeping me on my toes eh!

Well, yesterday went exactly according to plan. Just not my plan:facepalm: Daddy on duty so no float, ah well no biggie.

High wind advisory for today and tomorrow, sustained at 30 and gusts at 50. Boating? Oh, I dunno:rolleyes:

Soon enough, dad duty & taking the boat out can be the same thing:D Probably not in 30-50mph winds w/ either high hull side profiles currently in the boat house. Once your son(s) get in high school, and Admiral willing, get the boys a low profile go fast! That would be sporty in 3+ seas!

I am not suggesting you take any boat out w/ or w/out the 'crew' in any unsafe conditions...

Do they even make a sleek & sexy low profile tinny? We would gladly welcome you to the 'glass club. Tyvek suit optional....

Enjoy the kids while their not teenagers;) They'll be driving & driving ya loopy soon enough!:)

Those are not fun conditions to be caught out in,........I have been caught 10 to 20 miles out on the Great Lakes when squalls blew in and it is not a good time,...........

Ahh, what a feeling! It's been a real pleasure following along & seeing your great ideas, in spite of the fact that you defiled a Jet Star.

( :D )

Great job!!!

To bad TDF, over here on the Jas & Son's compound's south wall, the Admiral is calming the Mob by lobbing cookies & brownies over the parapet wall:D It works out great as the Mob actually prefers to make it's raids hopped up on a sugar high, w/ their bellies full, & a chocolate stained grin!

Congrats on 'almost' finishing the JetStar.... And now a word from the Mob's leader: The giant floating head......Floating Head.jpg

Clearly we are all very happy for you that you've finished 1 of your 2 builds. And we all look forward to seeing the finished project when you post it. Been a nice journey, thank you for letting us tag along! It has been a fun, interesting & informative trip!

Thanks & Congratulations!

NICE work, great photos! Any chance you can get her wet, or is everything iced in? No pressure, just asking, you've GOT to be jonesing to put her the water!
