Goodness Jason, you posted at 11:19PM. Are you losing sleep over lighting? Have you thought about any of utility/courtesy lights like some of these? Not too expensive and you can put them where you would need light.

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

I'm drinking coffee right now GA:facepalm:

Yah, I thought about using something like that but I'd rather have light all the way around. Here is what I am seeing after some digging...

2 of those should get me all the way around the boat right in that 50 buck range;) I do believe that will be the route I'll go.

You can hit the sack now, Jas. That looks like a good choice at a decent $. Almost looks like like 8 mm film.

I'm not used to seeing you on the forum this late, buddy.

:redface:I'm actually not up late, just earlier than my normal early. I was already down, the dog got me up to do his biz outside, now, well, I'm just up I suppose:rolleyes:

Oh well, couple of hours should suffice for the day:facepalm:

Man, you guys call it quits early! :p I wish I could do that. Maybe all the resin fumes went to my head... I've been working on a paper all night and have no intention of slowing down :D

Nice!

Only Issue I have ever had with ordering something out of china is the wait...
and sometimes with electronics I have to improve the soldering :)

Yah, I figured with over 3000 pieces of positive feedback in the past 12 months, should be good to go on that. Don't mind the weight either as I have some other stuff to tend to;)

Actually, I did even better than that!

I pulled the trigger on this one after I posted...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110779371915&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:1123

10 meters (just over 32') for a hair over 30 dux! And free shipping from the other side of the planet!!!:D Cheaper, plus now I only have one connection to make:)

Careful with this length. From my research, over 5 meters was an issue due to resistance. That might have been only for the RGB strips, but you still might need two connections

See, you were losing sleep over lighting. Just because you were shopping in Hong Kong. LOL Oh the trials and tribulations of a Master Bottom Feeder. :D I like that the tape can be cut to length. Couple of thoughts. Any extra strips can be put in two places - some under the splash well and under the casting deck up front. Since you are an early riser and will probably be hitting the ramp when it's still dark and you plan on keeping gear in both places a little permanent light can't be bad. I hate chewing on flashlights when I need two hands. A little more wire and two switches and good to go. Good find, Jas.

Too right GA, too right:D

Man, things would be so much easier if I had a whole pile a cash sitting around doing nothing, eh!

Ah, I'm cool with empty pockets. Where else would I keep cookies that I am trying to hide from the kids?:D

Outstanding Jas, simply OUTSTANDING! 2 days,1679 posts (videos too), now I'm tired from just watching you churn through to this point on your SC. Gotta give ya probs, so far you are the Tin man version of friscoboater.
Now the warden is keeping her eye out for you too! See my thread, it's the wife, in referenced around all things under my 'Special' projects heading. And yes, in the short bus way too! I've changed my CL search bot to include a tinny! Looking for a parts boat to steal some stuff ala your thumper, probably gonna be a fiber- 'G' word, but please don't tell the 'mob'. :) Gots to match the '60 glasser I already have. And anything as ugly as Thumper, I'd offer to make the 1st cut, the last cut or drop a match......I didn't even mind the whole web page posted to your thread dedicated to FG effegies & delamination pix..... My 60 FireFLite has lots of stuff that was done at the factory that make you go 'Unh?' or WTF. Occasionally, followed by the digging at my palm for invisible splinters!

Congrats! I'll also look forward to following you again tearing into the Islander FULL-TIME mister. No excuses, the mob has tolerated your Jet folly this long because frankly, you do really nice stinkin' work & we hate you for it. Especially since you did more work in less time & with less money then we are or can. You, sir, as we affectionately term it: officially SUCK! So, ask Jen to lock you into the garage for 1 of every 2 day weekends between now & xmas. She can lock you in the kitchen the other day. And put the kitchen & Jet to BED! And stop all this lolly gagging, early am run, nonsense & get to it boy. Lickety split, you are now on the glassers radar, and we're itchin' to put a beat down on a tinny! I just noticed that Firefox didn't recognize Lickety above. But had pernickety as an suggestion. WTF who wrote this spell check software, Charles Dickens????

Way past the warden's I-boat window. Gotta run. We start xmas early tomorrow, so I will be a week + before I have any updates to my thread. Thanks for letting me run on in yours.....

PS: Come to the dark side, we have cookies!
Ya, I stole it, but that's the way you roll, Jas, you were definitely driving the new & improved SC like you stole it! Hammer down, all the way & all the time...... What does that frequent posters signature say? Something like: Get in, sit down, hold on & shut up! Might put that on your passenger waiver docs...:D

Thanks a bunch for swinging through and your kind/harassing comments JB! That glass boat you are working on is a classic beauty so I'll not not say mean words about it;)

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

Yah, really sorry guys. I have got a few things done but have a couple of problems too:

I got the stern deck cut, sanded and painted. Problem I had was I just used a cheap chip brush, a few bristles fell off and got stuck in my work, I pulled em out, quick recoat, now too thick of paint and it ended up kinda orange peel on me:facepalm: So, I'll need to let that fully cure, sand smooth and repaint:rolleyes:

I'm still stewing about how I'll support that deck piece. I think I have it figured, then I think on it more, then I change my mind:rolleyes: I should make a video to show ya the set up.

I'd post up some photos but my laptop got totally smashed the other day so getting photos where they need to be

I think the mob is going to have to get after you. I'm even tempted to drive out to see some chieftains that might be for sale, and I'll bring my pitchfork just in case....

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

Yah sorry, not much progress over the past few days. I've actually been trying to sleep in the wee hours of the morning rather than working (before I go to work).

Couple of bright spots...

I can actually see the last few steps for completion on this Jet:)

And, it's been warm and rainy for the past few days. If I can finish this I might even be able to get one more run on the lake before the end of 11:D
