I'm happy for you. That is a great little fishing rig you've created there. Zach gave it a smile and a thumbs up too. We're cracking open an A&W in you're honor.

One question: Does your boat have any other speeds besides idle and WOT?:D

Jas, you probably already know this, but Sea Dog makes toggle switches with the LED tips. I happened to be lurking around at Bass Pro tonight and saw them. The retail there for 18.99. They are not stainless like your current ones, but might work for ya if the current ones keep acting up.

You can click link above to see one.

Awesome!

Boat looks great, and it looks like a good run!

And I never realized how much I loved having a windshield until I actually had one... :p ;)

Jason -

Got home from the in-laws an hour ago and just you made my Thanksgiving. Just watched the entire video from start to finish. So cool of you to take us out for the entire ride.

Love the hootin' and hollerin' - I was right there with ya. You KNOW I understand where that comes from. I'm so happy for you right now.

Now we need to see a video with Jen in the boat and smiling. Yer not done till you've proved the Admiral is pleased.

Outstanding! Well done, or as us old Navy rats like to say Bravo Zulu or BZ for short. You have put a lot of very nice work into that rig and you will enjoy it for years to come.

I noticed that you left your rig on the ramp with the trailer in the water. In this neck of the woods some bozo would have rolled it into the drink for you.

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

All of these jetstar rebuilds going on right now motivated me to start tearing into my own jetstar

My transom is out, and I have a new one that just finished curing the two 3/4in plywood pieces together, and today I finish the final trimming/fitting and coat with more epoxy.

again, very nice work on yours!

Anyone else notice that Jas has been absent since the sea trail???

I wonder if he has been locked in the kitchen with his power tools????

Jas is kissing up to Jen and performing family visit duty. He posted that on Tues or Wed, I think. He hasn't mentioned how close the kitchen is to completion.

So you're going to start your thread with lots of pictures, right?? :) Now that we're finished, or almost, we need to live vicariously through others!!

Yup, just got back from my mothers place, doing some family time and lots more eating! Sorry bout that, let's see if I can catch up on some of your comments eh!

Kitchen is close, justa bout like this Jet.

The engine is smooth as silk and powerful, flat out gets that baby goin!

I didn't want it to end... Did you???

:DGreat job! Kudos!
Makes me wanna go out and grind some fiberglass..

Yah, that Johnson was running very nice, super happy with that!

Nope, I wanted to ride a lil longer for sure!

Sorry about your grinding issues GT. You could jump ship any time ya know!

Well that has to be the most epic sea trial video yet! Watched it with my son and we both enjoyed it. My son "wants to go boating with that guy". Looks like it handles awesome (as these SC tend to do :D) That banging noise with the TnT is pretty odd. Definitely going to want to look into that before it breaks something expensive. That's going to be such a great little fishing rig. Congrats!

I kept thinking, I need one of those "I'm in a boat" tshirts like EZ has!

Give the boy a high five for me eh!

Yah, lake had that going on too. I think a lil grease will handle that issue.

Congrats on the splash. Great gob with the video and I couldn't wipe the smile off my face while watching. A second before the hole shot I could see that wild look in your eye. Super job dood!!!!!!!!

I felt wild my friend!

yeah that feeling that "hey it works and here we go"!! WooooHoooo!.

You got that right bro!

The little "heh, it works" half grin as you pulled away from the dock got me smiling and didn't go away the rest the time I was watching.

Thanks for taking us along.

Thanks for riding along with me truck, happy to have ya along buddy!

Now get it done so we can see what's gonna happen on the Islander build.

Funny, I've been stewing on that a little. Since this one isn't yet totally finished I am leaning hard towards making this complete before I pull the Islander into the garage.

Hey, I believe I saw that 25' Islander you were talking about on my way up to Pinconning the other day. I exercised restraint to stop and make and offer.

Congrats Man! looks awesome , your face was priceless.. good job

Thanks for stopping by! Yah, I had a heck of a time!

One question: Does your boat have any other speeds besides idle and WOT?

Yah, for that morning, that was about it, eh!

That was so awesome!!!! I can't wait to get my starcraft out now.

Maddie, that's what it's all about!

I think Jas likes the WOT a lot more than idle. LOL

Jas, you probably already know this, but Sea Dog makes toggle switches with the LED tips.

Thanks bro, yah, if these don't work for me I'll just swap em out for some simple ones. No biggie. Thanks for the heads up my friend.

Awesome!

Boat looks great, and it looks like a good run!

And I never realized how much I loved having a windshield until I actually had one...

Thanks gibbles! Yah, no windshield is tolerable, but, I do believe I'll start shopping for something.

Thanks for checking in broham! Ya buddy, I had a riot, that was fun stuff!

Ah, Jen won't care too much about this one. The Islander will be much more comfortable for her, eh.

I noticed that you left your rig on the ramp with the trailer in the water. In this neck of the woods some bozo would have rolled it into the drink for you.

Yah, no way I could get away with that any time during the summer. For that morning, I really had one thing on my mind, getting on plane!

Great video, Jas! :D Like others I was right there with you yelling :)! Boat looks great, and I've got some motivation to start on mine again now. I need to finish mine so it doesn't look so "ghetto"...

Congrats!!!

Excellent BG, make it happen buddy!

.........so what's the next project? ;)

Oh man, I haven't run out of projects yet!

again, very nice work on yours!

Thanks! Still have a bit to go to call it finished though...

Seriously though, JAS, that is ONE SWEET RIDE!!!!! Congrats on the Splash! Looks like you had a blast and it IS well deserved!

Thanks a bunch wood, appreciated!

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

Well, I used and abused my 99 3/4 ton Burb for years. She has served me well (mostly) but when my Sea Trial was jeopardized that was pretty much the last straw.

I traded her in for a fair price and drove home this 2005 GMC Yukon XL.

I was sad to give up a paid for truck for one with payments but with winter coming and hauling kiddos every day I couldn't have an unreliable truck.

I was sad to give up the 3/4 ton for the 1/2 but this will handle about 90% of what I do anyway. The other 10%, I suppose I'll just do two trips instead of one;)
