Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

Thanks a bunch guys! Ya, what a whole pile of fun I had this morning, just fantastic!

The battle cry of the resto nuts...

Yah, I have a few more wooohooos on the full video for ya.

I'll say this, that Jet felt solid and handled very nicely this morning. And overall, it felt quite comfortable. I think this will be a great fit for what I need. I am very happy with what I saw this morning. Just a great sea trial today, happy Jas:D:D

Wow what a totally awesome, fun morning!!!

:D:D:D

Swe-e-e-e-et! Congrats!!! Felt like I was right there with ya! --looking forward to the longer video.

Also glad to see your high rev's like I had. Gotta think a little more on that, like was suggested, I'll see how it goes with a heavier load before changing the prop or anything.

34=nice! Is that a GPS I see/ What kind?

Nice going bro, have some fun!!!

BTW did you test out the Minn Kota too? How did the Johnson do on fuel?

I'm guessing you could make it up Sanford Lake and back a few times on 12 gallons.:)

Congrats Jason, the Jet looks like a winner, I can't wait for the extended video.

Looks like you are propped right, 6k at wot and she only gets heavier from here. I think if you switch the tach to five it will push those numbers up some so 6 is probably right. It might be idling a bit high, I think you're looking for about 7 to 800 in reverse.

I thought I remembered that you were having fuel pump problems with the truck. if your mechanic's fix is like mine it consists of 3 or 4 good whacks, from under the truck, in the center of the tank with the side of a BIG hammer. That will quite often get you going again. I don't envy you changing that pump, on the pickups you could lift the bed off, no such luck on the wagon.

The Sea Nymph will go in the garage on Sunday to start my resto.

Way to go Jason. That was a much deserved trip to the lake. I bet you felt just like a kid in a candy store.

Ya, I've been into the apple 3x and the pumpkin 4x, I think:)

I didn't even drop the Minn Kota down. With my truck running, the trailer in the water at the dock, and the wife no idea where I ran off to, I kinda just wanted to get back;)

It was only a 35 minute trip so I didn't burn hardly a drop really. My guess, 12 gal will last me a very long time!

Ya, you'll see in the video I switched it down to 5P and it bottomed right out. 6p is definitely the right setting.

For my truck, it's pulling some sort of security code - thinks I'm steeling it. Fuel pump seems to be ok.

Couldn't tell ya man, never even looked into it. Here are the numbers on it: 618 129. Mean anything to ya? Or, is that a part number?

Yah, it was an excellent ride man! I've just about had enough of the Burb. If Jen's van wasn't trashed I'd be looking to give it a new home.

Full Sea Trial is @ 76% upload.

Good question, mine has the size stamped on a blade: 12-1/2 x 15.

Shaa right, I'm betting she knew right where you were headed the second your eyes opened.

Thanks guys!

No seriously truck, she had no idea. Check it out, she called on my way home...

Jen "Where are you?"

Jas "I'm having fun!"

Jen "Without me? When are you going to be home?"

Jas "On my way now. I had a totally awesome morning!"

Jen "Ummm, you didn't buy another boat did you? You better not have!"

Jas "No I didn't!"

Jen "You did didn't you."

Jas "I'll be home in 10, love you!"
