OK, so it was bugging me so I called Teleflex. The fella said 5P and seemed pretty confident about that. Ah, who knows:confused:

Spose I need to buy extra stuff eh Ben.

Details....Schmetails....

T minus one week to splash date.

This boat really is cool... I love the way it's coming together.

I expect to see lots of pics of your kiddos landing some fish in that rig come spring time....

In the Evinrude department above - I don't understand, "Engines with warning light tachometers require similar settings" - Does this refer to both references? Or to the latter (above the statement). I've got a warning light tach on my 50hp - I'm certain that my mechanic has it set to "6".

??

Thanks mccrany! Appreciated!

Yah, I'm within one week of getting this on the water. Yikes! I still have a fair amount to do and it is getting pretty darn cold here in the middle of MI. I saw some hard water this morning on my way to school too.

On the tach, I just don't even know right now. Doesn't seem like it should be this confusing.

Well this morning I went 2 and 1.

I got the bilge pump plumbed up. This isn't Azlo power but it is the big 1100 gpm that was meant for the Islander:) I still want to re-route the hose differently and peg it in place...

I also installed the starboard side Bert's Track, I'm amped about these...

My loss this morning came on these cleats scavenged from Thumper...

They are pretty cool, got em all cleaned up and wrestled with the install for a good while. Basically I didn't have the correct size fasteners, so, to be continued on those.

Hey! It's Friday! You guys have a great weekend!:D

Hard water should be of no concern!!!,...

By my math, (Google Maps) yous should be approximately 24.4 miles from the Bay City Yacht Club, My guess is the bay will still be soft next week,.......

Nice progress your making, Watching your thread makes me want to go out and buy a project, I watch C-List daily and have come very close to pulling the trigger a couple of times, One of those a passed on will probably haunt me for years, A late 80's 1850 Lund Tyee on a solid Shorlander trailer without a motor for $600, I'll be regretting not buying that one for a long time,...

Looking forward to your Splash!!!

Oh, Any idea what that GPS combo went for on ebay??,........I forgot to mark it so I could follow it,....lol...

Your fine on the weather! The river will be open through December. I'm worried about no ice for fishing by January.

Yah, that is normally where I launch to walleye fish. But, this being the maiden voyage I really don't want to be heading out to the Bay if I don't have to.

My plan right now is to head over to Sanford Lake. If I run into trouble I can basically just float to shore and go from there. Lots of cottages and roads to make rescue/recovery easy (though I really think everything will be fine).

You should have bought that Lund;)

Yah, there are sections of the river down that way that I absolutely DO NOT want to float to if the boat doesn't do what it's supposed to:eek: Locals will know what I am talking about. Entirely different after I run this boat for a while.:)

I know, If I had been thinking I would have bought it and stashed it away for a year or two,..

All I could think of was keeping my finances together and I don't have the budget for a rebuild for another year,......

Oh well,.....I'll keep watching c-list and dreaming,.....

Not doubting the integrity of your work, but take a couple paddles! :D

A.M. progress, good stuff! Decal Day!

I got the garage up to about 80, decals like those nice warm temps.

MC numbers...

And the Johnson...

P1070529.jpg

P1070528.jpg

P1070525.jpg

The thin gray stripes were separate so I had to bring my had eye coordination A game.

And the NEW Starcraft model, JET STAR SC...
P1070539.jpg

I put one of these on each side.

I wanted to respect the boats roots being a classic 1968 Jet Star but this is certainly not what the original builders originally had in mind. So, SC = Side Console.

Have an excellent Sunday fellas!

I like the decals, sure gives it some character. So what's left on the list to finish up?

Looking real good, but Boatnut brings up a good point. Isn't it about time for one of your lists?

Great job Jason, she is looking real nice. The water is so hard up here, yesterday while driving down a gravel road I watched a cow walk onto some bare ice on a dug out and all four legs went different directions, I bet it hurt bad but it was sure funny from my point of veiw. -27c -16.6f this morning.

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

Thanks fellas!:D

Yah guys, I hear ya. It's about time to figure out what's left.

I came to a realization this morning.

Bad news, good news...

Bad news is this boat will not be "finished" by this weekend. I have some things that I need to order and I know it won't be here on time. I still have the helm seat to build in, the stern deck to build/install, wire up the horn, nav and interior lights, touch up paint, and other stuff...

Good news is it will certainly be ready for the water:)

Having said that, this weekend, we'll call it a Sea Trial.

So, what do I need to get this Jet "water ready"?

Not a whole lot, actually:D

- Make the necessary connections like fuel, bilge pump...

- Few other small random things to shake out/load some stuff

- Go boating!:D

Sea trial is good enough for us, as long as she gets wet!
Now the real question is, what do you have to do on the kitchen to be able to splash the jet? We don't want any frying pan injuries on splash day.

Likin' the decals. I'm still trying to decide whether to have your decal guy make something up for my motor or whether to buy these way too expensive ones that are what I want but too much $$$. http://www.cutnupvinyl.com/catalog/i3.html I bought the other parts I need to fix up my motor before painting (replacement for a cracked housing and a new cowl seal).

Cool Drew, thanks!:D

Yah, the kitchen is about where the boat is. I'll be working on tile backsplash today actually. The cabinet door/drawers are in progress too. Just a few other details after that. I'll not finish by this weekend but my life supervisor is happy with the progress so I'm safe.

For now:eek:

I'm thinking if he doesn't have that set up on hand he can make it for you. Bout half the cost too.
