I would expect nothing less out of you TII:)

I hear ya bro. I was super pumped when it actually ran right out of the gate like that, first shot, no tearing stuff apart chasing down problems/bad connections. Yah baby:D

A.M. progress...

I worked on the bow casting deck hatch cover. Sanded down and cout out for the latch. Didn't bother with photos, still needs to be painted up.

So I was eyeballing my dash and mulling on the setup. Now, I know I said I was going bare bones on this rig, keeping things as minimal as possible. Well, I have already backpedaled on installing nav lights (vs. the cheapo batt powered clamp on ones). I was fully planning on just installing basic push/pull switches for the nav lights and bilge pump. I was also just going to go with a basic air horn too. But, then I remembered I snatched a switch panel off eBay a really long time ago (I think I bought for like $20). So, I rifled through one of my boxes - check it out...

Super cool! You can see that these switches have the lighted tip to em:cool:

These were actually custom built for late model Starcrafts (prolly a Superfisherman or what have you). I have no interest in the carbon fiber plate so I'll just be using the switches.

So, I have 4 switches plus the horn there. I'll go with NAV, BILGE, INTERIOR LIGHTS and the fourth switch I believe I should be able to just switch the power over to a 12V PLUG.

Yup, not so bare bones now I suppose:redface:

You can see they are all pre-wired up with plugs on the ends for whatever model boat they were putting it in...

I believe I could just clip those off and chase down the appropriate wires for each switch.

That may take me a little while to figure all that out, but, it'll be worth it:)

A friend of mine used to guide on Green Bay,...

He went to a junkyard and got an old brass air-horn off of a Mack Truck circa 1958/59 or so,....

He put a new diaphragm thing in it and mounted a small 12 volt compressor and air tank for it in his boat,...

When the for rolls in and your out it is a good idea to be heard!!!

And his setup could be heard!!

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

That's exactly what I'm gonna be wiring up for my SS this winter, and I thought it was bare bones:D

Adding a temp for the motor, stereo, radar and an old school flasher like Kenny's would bump it up from bare bones to overkill:)

The wiring shouldn't be too bad, I think the tricky part is hiding it all once the connections are solid.

Nice horn, but that's a pretty ugly mount for it! :p
I like the necker knob though!

Yah, I'm thinking the wireing on all that should go all right.

I've got a bunch of space behind the dash for hiding the bundles so I think I should be all right there:)

Well, that little JD has since been sold so I'll have to come up with a new way to mount it in the rig. I suppose I'll have to use SS bolts or something:p

By the way, don't know if you noticed in that video there...

Over my right shoulder, that would be a trailer load of glass boat ready for a trip to the landfill:D

Just in case any of my glitter boat buddies decide to pass through here:p

He's not finished! I saw a fuse labeled Stereo 10 amp.

Yup, that's what clued me in--I have more faith in him than that! Maybe a coffee brewer or a micro-fridge, well OK, but.....

Re: 1968 15' Starcraft Jet Star Rebuild

Some good news, some bad news...

Bad news: It snowed today, and just a little bit stuck. I am running out of time...

Bad news: My truck didn't make it home today. I think the fuel pump finally bit the dust. So my daily driver and my tow vehicle is out of commission. The fuel pump on this truck is big $$ too. Rats.

Good news: The mail lady dropped of my eBayed nav lights, bases and ss through hull for my bilge. Like em...

Good news: She also delivered my decals and they are pretty cool.

Those parts suck.I'll pay shipping so they don't end up on your boat.:p

Those will be some nice add ons.First I've seen a plastic and ss thru hull.
