I don't care if it's snowing on launch day, this Jet will be launched, all there is to it:)

Make sure yous use a all plastic snow shovel to clean it out,....

I watched a friend of mine make some knarly scratches in his boat with a metal edged shovel during a late October fishing trip to Canada a few years ago,....

Snow is just firm water any way, wear your woolies and carry a snow brush to keep the snow off your ski goggle and you should be good to go!! :D:D

Yah, a stocking hat and I'll be warm with adrenalin, no prob:D

So, this morning I tried to sand down my shoddy work and lay down another coat of paint. Barely marginal improvement. I can see this is going to take some time to correct. I am glad that I can move on to rigging this weekend while the paint work is drying.

Don't ya hate it when ya work against yourself:facepalm:

I hear ya on that, I hate doing things over, I guess that's why my progress is so slow. Some say I'm a perfectionist (my family :)) but I call it "Cautious". At least you can get it off your mind for a while as you work on the rigging.

Bummer on the paint issues...hope it can be fixed soon:)

BTW, are you considering a small windshield or are you gonna be wearing ski goggles for the November outings? :D

Nice progress, looking forward to seeing the interior.

Yah, my do overs are just big dumb head type stuff.

Yah, I am cool with that. See how calm the water is there:D

Good question buddy. I have kicked the windshield idea around a bunch. At this point I am planning on not having one. If a pair of shades don't keep my eyes from watering being blasted in the face with wind, I'll back track and put one on.

As a matter of course, what you guys will see (especially from here on) is me attempting to NOT put stuff on the boat that isn't absolutely necessary. I am going to do what I can to make this rig bare bones. No extras. We'll see how it turns out.

Careful, Teamster might interpret this as meaning that you are gonna opt for a tiller:D

Man, what a great idea! I wish that somebody (anybody) would have mentioned the tiller option! Oh well, too late now.

Hey Jas - The only problem with the paint drips is that you know about them. Seeing all that you have done so far, You will take care of them. Take your time getting to bare bones, don't need to re-work major stuff, like putting the hole for the steering on the wrong side of the console. Keeping things in perspective, you have passed on bow season for what 2 seasons. I can't remember the last time you said you went fishing. You have a chance to wet a line before ice. Then you can pull the Islander in the garage, knowing that the Jet Star is ready for stress relief come springtime. Of course by Spring you might have to pick between the two them for your boating pleasure! If I was a little closer (well a lot closer) I would lend a hand. ;)

Thanks for stopping by GA!

Yah, I'll get those paint drips straightened out, just a little time is all.

Yah, I have passed on a lot of stuff I really love to do for the past couple of years. Hunt, fish, canoe, backback, climb. I really hope I can get some significant time outside next year (live up to my handle ya know).

I'm looking forward to having both of these rigs done and ready for action next summer, to just enjoy, eh:D

Yup, plan is to have the Jet in the river for spring walleye run and follow them out to the big water with the Islander. Mix in some salmon/steelhead/lake trout over the summer.:)

Rock on GA!

Just finished reading the thread Jason. You certainly are one of those who believes they will get enough rest when they,re six feet under. The boat is looking real good. Don't let the "Angry Mob" rush you, they obviously don't know you can't rush an artist.:)

Hey Yamikaze! Thanks for working your way through! This Jet isn't as cool as your boat with fins, but it'll work for my purposes:)

So I got to work on steering installation...

You guys ever wonder if you are actually wrecking stuff faster than you are building stuff?

Yah, that is how that's going so far:rolleyes:

Photos later...
