Excuse me while I just go over here in the corner to shudder in pain and cry a lot.

Too right buddy, too right.

My $45 a month water bill is starting to look pretty good.

There were proposals floating around that they would run water lines through our area. I knew I'd be replacing the well sooner or later. I was just hoping that it would be after they ran the new lines. Guess I missed that. I would have been more than happy to cough up $45/month vs. what is being squeezed otta me now:facepalm:

Oh man, the rollercoaster goes down again. That's a pretty serious chunk of change.

Maybe I'll send you a Get "Well" card!

That suck about your well. I had my well pump go bad called my home owners insurance told them lightning strike paid the hole thing except my deductible. Just had the well guy confirm the cause. Might be worth a try!! They can only say no

That sucks,

Jay make sure to call around to different drillers in and out of the county, there is a really big difference in the price per foot for drilling. FYI, you can have them just drill the well, sink the casing, and grout it in. Then you can do the trenching, buy the pump (not from menards, heard bad stuff about there well pumps only lasting a year), valves, pex, then do the plumbing and electrical yourself. That should knock you down to around $2500 or so. Or if you know someone with a back hoe you can do the trenching yourself and have the well driller do everything else and save around $500.

I had a well prob last summer (a old 2" well with a jet pump) and called around to a few people and they told me I had to have a new 5" well for the low price of $5500, with out even coming to the house to see what the problem was. I called Dan Meihls well drilling in Sterling who a friend recomended, he came over and took a look at it and fixed it up(band aid fix) until it finally goes out on me completely. My well works good now, they did a great job, were prompt, and very fair on the price, I will use him again. He was the one that told me about "ALL" my options His # is 989-654-2157.

Good luck, I hope you find a deal.

Yah, I always get a kick out of PR. Letting me (virtually) ride in his boat really brought a smile to my face!

Interesting, when I started looking for a well driller I thought there might be one or two in the area. Nope, a couple of dozen all within a stones throw of my house! Must be a good business to be in. All of them were within a couple of hundred of each other which I though was interesting too. The guy I hired seems great. He'll be at my place today to drill and was willing to work with me on a bit of a payment plan which was really cool of him.

Yup, I have the exact same problem you are describing up there ^^^^. They did give the option to repair at the $1200 range. I am hedging my bet and going for a new 5" well rather than repair the old 2" one. I am hoping it will pay in the long run. All the well drillers are claiming that this is a much better move financially (of course they have something to gain here). Only time will tell.

This a.m. progress, topside paint...

I got everything taped, tarped, washed with vinegar and water, and wiped with a tack cloth...

I know, lame photo but that took me like an hour and a half so your getting it whether you like it or not. While I was doing all that I ran the propane heater to bring the temp up to a nice paint spraying upper 70 range

Two light passes with the etching primer...

Agreed! It's really nice to see that paint going down. I'll see if I can get the final two coats on and take a photo of her in the sun this afternoon so we can get a better view, eh.:)

The Rusto Pro in rattle cans now have these new high output spray nozzles on em and the finish actually comes out really nice.

I am glad they are an option as I burned up one of my compressors two weeks ago and the second toasted out over last weekend:facepalm: And, since I am buying water these days I feel less compelled to spend cash on a compressor:rolleyes:

That'll work. Cure time is pretty long on the rattle can stuff. Be carefull for the first couple of months, cuz it'll scratch pretty easy...No hardener in the paint.

Motor and boat look great. I could never do all that with a rattle can, especially the black.

I actually didn't see a real noticeable difference when I used the hardener sprayed with Rusto on my trailer. This stuff I sprayed on the hull has dried quiet nicely from what I can tell.

Looking really good there Jas!

Thanks ER! Yah, you are right about breaking down when you need it, eh.

Thanks man! It really wasn't that hard. Lighting is really the key along with being able to see the wet edge and when there is just enough (but not too much) paint on.

My paint work is hardly perfect. Far from it. If you looked close you'd see drips, runs and other messed up stuff. I'm still pretty happy with it.:)
