Congratulations LL. Looks really great. Even down to the color coordinated bungee cord. Take a video of the launch.

My son and I are just about to go check out the launch at a nearby lake, so it's lookin' good for "soon", just in need of a little cooperation from the weather! I haven't been this excited since....well you get the picture!!!

I have to go over the trailer one last time. Yesterday I spruced up the wiring for the lights a little and put air in the tires; may need one new one before heading off. A note on the trailer wiring - it's amazing what a good clean ground can do!

Thanks, I used a lot of your project as a guide. I should have some videos to post for sure.

I decided to use up some of this crummy weather by checking the lower unit oil. Good news - it was practically full, & contained no water or particles/filings. It was pretty black, like the PO probably never changed it but just added to it, but at least they did that. I'll fill it up with fresh and that's one more thing not to worry about.

I also bought a couple cheapie bumpers yesterday @ WM and rigged them with rope for quick use at the launch.

There. That took up 45 minutes...

Too bad it's so cold & rainy today, there's no wind. I'm sure the lake is nice & flat.

Nah, I don't want to get that nice laminated dash or those nice new seats soaked on the first voyage, do I?

All I can say is hang in there, it helped when you guys all said it to me when I was about to give up!;)

If you can believe the weatherman (can you ever?) it looks like I'll be planning a splash for next week. :)

I had a dream last night....I was on the maiden voyage, with that 50 just humming along wide open on flat waters, I'm high as a kite! That's an endorphin high, not the other kind :D. I turn around and look with satisfaction at the long, narrow v-shaped wake, feeling real pleased.

Switch scenes the way dreams do and I'm back at the dock afterwards and suddenly there are two faceless forum members in the boat with me inspecting the transom. It's all wobbly and rotten, and as they tug on the motor, the transom moves in and out about a couple inches and they say it's the worst one they've ever seen! I inspect it closer, and push on the inside of it with my finger and it goes through!! Glad I woke up from that one!

Yah, bad dream there. You have Taco Bell for dinner yesterday?

Some funky stuff in that meat (though it's never stopped me:D).

Now that you mention it, I did have a little burned chili.

Can't wait to see this rig on the water:)

Boating in the rain is fun for a little while...maybe not all afternoon though(unless the fish are biting):D

Dreaming about mushy transoms? Maybe you can get a full refund from the PO and start all over with another. Splash and make the first dream come true. :D

A minor setback...

w-DSC_5361.jpg

But this isn't the worst of it. My tow vehicle (don't laugh), an 02 Impala, has to go in the garage Monday....and beyond?......for replacement of the K-frame. As I understand it, a minor part that holds the engine and transmission from falling out. I probably could have prevented this crisis, as I was warned two years ago to replace the rubber bushings, but never had that done. Hmmmm, two years ago, what was on my mind then I wonder? Oh yeah, I bought a Starcraft tinny.

Yah, better get that "K Frame" figured out because even if all that melts ^^^^ today it won't be enough to float that Jet off the trailer.
