Wind helps lower boat onto trailer
An unexpected gust of wind helped lower the boat while I was in the process of jacking it down onto the trailer.
Luckily, I was just eyeballing things and figuring at the time, and not in the way. It happened in slow motion.
All's well that ends well, it actually sped up the process. One thing I discovered is that the boat is not as heavy as I thought it was and I got it up on the trailer pretty easily, once I had slid it flat onto the ground. The tilt trailer helped.
My previous measurements were all off and I have to move the winch post toward the back after having moved it forward. A couple more keel rollers, new bunks and some adjusting and I'll be all set. Tomorrow I can work on cleaning up the rusted steel wool stains on my interior paint job, and it will be ready for my two sons to help me flip & lift onto its winter home when the younger one comes home from college for Thanksgiving.
Winter home:
I don't know how anybody else feels, but I say 4 p.m. sunsets are depressing.
