Nice work on the motor stand. When I had my Merc 454 out of the boat, I just threw a couple of cinder blocks on a dolly for the engine to rest on and hoped that it did not take off when I started itLast couple afternoons I threw together a motor stand . Never built one for an inboard . I basically just matched the stringer/motor mounts that were in the boat . That way I should be able to run it with the carb level . Thought it was a good idea I guess .

It’s what they call a no soak bottom . Originally the bottoms had a layer of canvas soaked with some type bedding/ lead compound in between the liner and outer bottom planks . That layer basically kept the hull from leaking temporarily until the boards swelled up to stop most of the bottom from leaking .Sam whats the 5200 bottom mean?
