The early 70's Checkmate mx's came stock with an all black interior. There is no way in hell I would put that back in mine, sitting on the black seats with shorts would be suicide in the summer here, forget about Florida

KC , looking to change the black to brown . A lot of black is out there . Unless I go original colors . Still debating , and still plenty time , on my decision.. It’s actually a pretty tough choice . Black would be so dang hot down here ..

I can't grasp the whole use with that pic. Send out a broader one.

Gearing up .. picked up materials for 2 gantry’s . Glad the price of wood has leveled out somewhat though still high . So to keep it from hitting the angle support channels on the metal building my best guess is it’s gunna be around 13’ to the top of the support beam and roughly 13’-6” wide total .
I want to be able to slide them back and forth as needed .

I have some 1/2” plywood left over at work I’m gunna lay down over that really heavy duty landscape cloth that I saved from the dumpster . I have some ideas on closing the building in temporarily with some stuff I have on hand .
I don’t like wheee this building is sitting on my property and I plan on moving it . Otherwise I would pour concrete .

Couple shots of the inside . Unfortunately I guess the decking and motor hatch cover promoted the rot on one of port main stringer .

Your gonna put wheels on the gantry's I assume, Mine was tough to move over gravel when I pulled the engines from mine, even wit the inflatable tires from HF. Maybe make a ground track out of 2x12's for the wheels to roll on.

Probably no wheels . I think me and my son can just slide it on the flat 2x6 bottom . . Yeah I have been over it pretty good with a screwdriver looking for bad wood . The bottom looks really good .,There is a bad spot on the bow around where the winch stop is .
And the gunnel top plywood needs replacing . Once flipped we can really get a good look on the bottom . I may do the 5200 bottom everyone is doing now days . The original should have a canvas type material between the 2 layers of planks .

If you zoom in close enough, you can see patches of skin stuck to that black vinyl from unsuspecting passengers. kidding of course. But man...what kind of sadist does black vinyl in a boat interior? Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for a lighter color of gator skin vinyl.

Hope everyone is having a nice start to the Christmas weekend !
I’m dealing with a bad cold atm unfortunately.. But weather was good enough to get a bit done today . Almost finished building the gantries.. Gott a few lag bolts to add and they should be good to go . Next up closing the carport in somehow and making a barn door of sorts .. I may just hang tarps on the sides . Or maybe get some cheap wafer board and paint the outside . It’s cold down here ! Could have used a heater in there ! LOL !
