Yep, looks like a cousin to Mick's Starflite 50 hp...a later 60 hp V4 Speedifour. More ponies and a few refinements...got one waiting for a boat in the shop.

I have a 75hp motor now- not a 50.

The family was out on the lake yesterday again. We had a good time and the kids fell asleep again:)

If I were to do another project boat it wouldn't a 18-20' open bow that seats 8- that would Bethesda ticket!

Well I hope you're joking. Plus you wouldn't get near that much for your boat. A closed bow runabout isn't the most desireable configuration.

I hope you are joking as well! Are you really thinking about selling after all this work?

Like everybody always says on here- you are always looking for another project. This boat isn't another project but it would be nice to have that extra room up front. I don't think I'd be able to part with my boat after all the work- No.

Open bows are very cool, however you have done such a great job with your boat, it would be a shame to sell without getting at least a few seasons in.

I'm not sellng:) just looking:)

Maybe when the kids are older, a little bigger, and wanting to bring friends along I will buy a second boat that will accommodate more people.

By the way- on the way home from the lake the other day my wife said we still don't have a name for the boat. We were saying some names to no avail so we asked our 4 year old daughter- she thought for a bit and said "Big Blue." I said to her, "Syd it's actually a small boat so that may not work, what else do you like." The smarty that she is says, "daddy- it is a big boat for me so I think we should name it Big Blue." my wife and I looked at each other laughing.

Well when you decide to get another project, we'd love to have you in the Starcraft club (central PA chapter).

Hey Mick,
How about "Old Blue".
Don't you love the things that little ones come up with.
Take care
Bob

Starcraft also makes aluminum open bow boats. After working on the one I am right now, I don't think i will ever go back to a glass hull again.

hey mick buy the other boat if it will give you the parts you need scrap or sell the rest.

sounds like you have a name to me!!!!!

the 60 or 50 or 75 eerrrr what ever it is on the other boat might give you more speed if it has good compression and LU. and it will stay within the era you are shooting for.

EZ- I'm done restoring boats:) if I ever get another it will be like that one I posted from craigslist.

What lakes do you go out on? Do you ever make it up here to beltzville or wallenpaupack?

I go out on a couple dammed sections of the Susquehanna. Lake Clarke, Conowingo, Goldosboro, etc. I have not been to either of those lakes but have sound well worth checking out.

EZ- we gotta hook up sometime and set up a place to meet before the summer is over.

I was just out again this morning- I took my brother out on the boat for the first time. The day started over-cast and raining but as soon as we got to the boat ramp it turned around for the better. We explored the lower end of the lake and fished a cove down there that I didn't even notice before. We were out on the lake for 5 hours and had a great time.

Next week we go to the shore so we won't be on the boat for a week or more.

Yes we should definitely hook up. I'd love a ride on that thing.
