Re: 1962 Arkansas Traveler restoration

I remember seeing that pic in your thread last year. Are you available during the week to hook up?

It's funny- my brother asked me today if I was taking the boat to the shore with us(our whole family goes down together). I'm not sure were I could even take a 15' boat down there. We stay in Wildwood Crest right in the middle of the beach and the bay.

Hey micks,

I was browsing your thread in the pour foam section. I am helping my buddy put his deck in his 17ft fiberform, and he wants to use the pour in foam. Your boat is about the same size. How much of the foam did you use? Also where did you buy it at?

I am glad to hear that all your hard work is paying off, and you are having fun with the boat.

Weekdays aren't so good as I don't have a lot of vacation time (after my upcoming week at the beach). I could get a little "sick" and take a half day at some point. I'll let you know.

I am just about to water test a 1963 Traveler Comet after some restoration. Does any one have a good line on touch up paint for these hulls?

Re: 1962 Arkansas Traveler restoration

Thank you guys for all the comments! Sorry I've been away for a bit- we were on vacation.

Isaac- I have to look back in my thread but I'm pretty sure I have the link in there for the place I got the foam from. But off the top of my head right now I don't remember.

I will probably be getting a lower unit for my motor sometime next week.

Alright mick, I will take another look. I did read the whole section on the foam, but maybe i missed it.

Glad to hear you found a deal on a lower unit for your motor. That will be nice to have.

Hey Arch- I saw you were doing the carb rebuild. I will check it out then. Since we have been back from the beach we haven't been out on the boat. Either tomorrow or the next day we will be going out again though. I'm just about to purchase the lower unit from a guy in Florida so that will be the next thing to toy around with:)

Hey Micks,

What's up with the Motor? Did you get your lower unit? When you gunna start on it? Looks like I am about two weeks a way from finally gettin started on my Flamingo. Gunna get her stripped down and off the trailer and then flip her to start on the hull. Anyway that's the plan.
I'll post some pic's when I get there.

Let us know what's going on in PA!!!

I'm just sayin...:D

Woody- glad to hear your getting close! I just need to send the money for the lower unit and then he'll send it up. I will be sending it out tonight actually. So I should have it sometime next week. He's going to send it right to my boat place and the guy said he'll help me put it on after hours for nothing. So that's basically it for now.

Mick,
Glad to see you found the parts you needed.
It's really cool that your boat guy is willing to help you out without dipping into your pockets. It's great to make friends like that.
Keep us posted.
Take care

Re: 1962 Arkansas Traveler restoration

Thanks bob and arch. I guess they figured I'd spent a "boat load" of money there already:) My boat guy made it seem like it is fairly easy to replace the lower unit and shouldn't take much time.

Here is a plug for my boat place- Dinbokowitz Marine in Whitehall PA. They can come across a little mean but once you get to know them they are really great people and very helpful.

I'll post more when it comes in next week!

Still waiting on the lower unit to get up here from Florida. The guy said he'd email me when he shipped it but I haven't heard from him yet so I'm on hold.
