Blue skies, calm waters & a whole lotta good thoughts headed your way from WV for a successful 'S' word Friday. Not going to use that word until the BF is confirmed wet once again!

WOG - hope all is well. Not going to mention the "S" word, but I hope you have a great weekend and it if happens to involve a Blue Flamingo and water and such, then I hope the mixture turns out smoothly.:D:)

Well it is Friday evening, and inquiring minds are curious...not that it is any of our bizzzz-ness, mind you...but any news from the home front?

Hope everyone is doing well as can be and some large parcels of good Karma have befallen the WoG household...

As always, Best regards...

Now we know what the FedEx truck brought to the GT household... Good Karma. Huh? He already had that.

WOG, will be waiting for news from the water.

Yeah, I cleaned out the box, AND, the BF is Ship Shape again. Honey Do's are done, LIFE issues are back to normal, soo.... barring any OTHER unforseen issues there will be a Flamingo on the Water this weekend. Here's what I had to do...

Just some basic deep scratches, no biggee.

These were worse but still not to much of an issue, but....

Then we really hit metal on the trailer and got into the wood in the keel. Soo... I let her dry out for a month while I was dealing with LIFE and then finally last week I ground it all down, mixed up some PB and reformed the keel, layed some CSM and 1708, Sanded, Mixed up some of my Fairing mixture with glass bubbles sanded smooth with 180 grit, 3 coats of Valspar Primer, and 3 Coats of Valspar Paint with hardener and she's good as new. I'll post pics tonite of what she looks like now. Did not take pics of the repairs. With the temps in the 100's I was a little busy since I was buy myself. FYI Since this was and upside down repair, I made the patch on a piece of plastic(CSM, CSM, 1708, CSM, CSM),first piece of CSM about 1/2" larger than the original wound, and Each successive piece 1 1/2" larger, wetted em all out and then carried the entire patch to the boat and put it in place using my hands and a Bondo spreader to kinda squeegee it all into place and smooth it out. In 5 mins with the heat, I was able to peel the plastic off and it was perfect. No air bubbles and pretty much no major lumps or bumps. Sanding and Fairing was pretty simple starting with 40 grit and finished with 180. I must say the Pettit EasyPoxy paint held up very well. But the Valspar, IMHO is just as good and for 1/2 the price. The Valspar paint is just a shade whiter than the Pettit and you might be able to see that when I post the final pics tonite. Not so bad that it make me want to paint the entire hull. My wife is pretty picky and even she said it was almost un-noticeable. I'll let you all be the judge. Supposed to be 106? tomorrow on my day off. Sure wish I had my new Bimini Top sewn.!!! Prolly come home lookin like a Cooked Lobster!!!!

Wood - Glad everything is back on track. Yeah - You're gonna need the bimini @ 106, heck you needed it when it was in the 90's.
