Mike,
Haven't posted to your thread or any other for quite a while but have really enjoyed the incredible transformation your boat and trailer have made and thank you for the time to post all the info. Have been praying for you and your family as many others have indicated and will continue to do so. Have had many issues for prayer in my own personal life and definately know the value of it as well as having a great support group to hold you up thru the tough times. Hope to see you thru all this soon!

Re: 1962 Lonestar "Flamingo" - I finally Started w/pics

I guess it's time. Last Wednesday afternoon I received a text that no Grandfather ever wants. "Emergency Call Immediately!" But when I tried to call my Daughter the phone went to voice mail!!!!! Eventually I was able to reach my Son-In-Law. His voice said it all. My grandson had DROWNED!!!!!! That's all I heard. Eventually I heard him say but... Natalie, my daugheter, had jumped in the pool, pulled him out and resucitated him and he was in the hospital. They live an 1 1/2 hour away. I was there in 55 minutes. When we got the emergency room Pearce, my Grandson was laying on the bed and said "Hi PoPo" I broke down! He was fine!!!!!!!! My daughter had saved him. You can check it out on this link...

Now the hard part begins. My daughter is suffering the guilt of believing she's and unfit mother etc... She has 3 messed up discs in her neck that will require surgery and she is in extreme pain. Her whole world is all messed up. She's an emotional wreck. As her Dad I am a wreck. For some reason it is REALLY messin with me and I can't seem to get past it. I don't blame her for any of it, in fact I KNOW if she did not have the training he would be dead. I KNOW she was not negligent, stuff like that just happens. You can't be there all the time. That's not it. I just don't know how to help her and it's gettin to me. I'm losing focus. Very hard to know. This forum helps keep me sane cuz I can just focus on helping with working on stupid boat stuff. This LIFE crap is HARD!!!!

Well, now you know. Thanks for all your support and I'll stop whining now and try to get back to being just an Old Dumb Okie.
Thanks for being there. Feel like I known all of you like next door neighbors. Bet you all wish I'd MOVE!!!!!!

Re: 1962 Lonestar "Flamingo" - I finally Started w/pics

If by wishing you'd move, you meant that we all wished you move IN next door, then yeah sounds about right. Otherwise, forget about it.

Clearly your daughter grew up knowing & learning how great her dad is, cause she got a big ol' okie helping of the WOG genes;) Not that your Admiral didn't contribute too:)

I'd suggest you give the homestead & the BF no further thought & spend some time with her & her family. They will need some time, if nothing else. If you've got videos that clearly show her efforts & caring, make a montage to show her. The only other suggestion I might have would be have her come & stay w/ you for a bit. At least until she can close her eyes & not have that image be 1st & only. I can't imagine how traumatizing any portion of that event would be for any of you involved.

Sorry to hear it happened, extremely glad he's doing so well. We continue to send good thoughts your way! PM head that way too.

Only give us what we can bear, but it isn't the load that's the burden, it's how we care it.

WOG,
You are the kind of neighbor EVERYONE wants. I have had neck surgery and the pain before and after is intense, and for her to save him in that pain goes to show what amazing abilities the good Lord gives us for those times. My family and group will continue to keep her, the kids and your family in our prayers and to grant her peace to know that she is not at fault and be able to move forward.

my son at 3 did the same thing, took off his floats was packing up and next thing i hear is a splash, turned looking for him and he was at the bottom, i do not think i have EVER moved so quickly as i did then and i was do believe i had gills cuz i do not remember holding my breath only yelling until i had him up.

I PRAY for her and your family to be able to draw closer and move past this with no regrets or doubts about what took place.

The BF will get there, but it can wait. maybe you can take them on the next splash and post that video for us.

God Bless......

The unique thing about "this" neighborhood is we all get to pick and choose who our neighbors are. Most of us know what kind of neighbor you are and I hope you will stick around even if we cannot help you as much as you have helped us. Thank God for this ending!

Wow, I am sitting here in shock and disbelief and absolute gratefulness of everything that has transpired and the amazing outcome of it all...

Let your Daughter know that she is a true HERO! On the same level as those who sacrifice their lives everyday for our freedoms.

If every Mother on Earth were as "unfit" as she thinks she is, this world would be a million times better than it is right now.

God has chosen in His wisdom to heap upon you and your Family these trials and tribulations for reasons that may never be revealed.

Just know that from these tests, will come greater strength for all you and your Family have endured.

My prayers will always contain good wishes and mountains of blessings for you and your Family.

And if you decide you need to move, my home is your home!

Stay strong and God Bless

Woodie - I'm glad to have you in the neighborhood. Besides who is going to keep us straight on paint, upholstery and the like. I have bookmarks for many of your How-To's. Thanks.

You're just keep being a Dad who worries about the family. Hug your daughter and thank her for doing the right thing. Too many parents turn into quivering Jello when the kids get into trouble and your girl reacted even through her pain. I bet your grandson thinks his Mom is the coolest person on earth. My thoughts, Buddy and keep the faith.

Hey Wood. Sorry for all your bad luck and I wish your daughter the best. Accidents do happen and things happen so fast. Best of luck. Us Canucks are wishing nothing but the best for all of you. Keep us in the loop. I wish there was something I can do for you.

WOG,
As I sit here and read this a tear comes to my eyes. There is such a rage of emotions happening all at one time.
It is a blessing that your grandson came out ok. I can't imagine all the emotions that your daughter is going thru or you for that matter.
When something of this nature happens, it will time time to heal.
I am just really glad to hear your grandson pulled thru.
My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Re: 1962 Lonestar "Flamingo" - I finally Started w/pics

WOW, and double WOW!

Can't help but agree with what's been said but I'll add,

I tend to feel your much like my stepfather, the advice giver that everyone knows will be there and that's why it seems like you get more than your fair share life's craziness.

While my kids are younger and I've never faced anything near this magnitude I (and all of us) get that when your kids are hurting you are hurting. Along with being there to give the advice that's not always what's "wanted to be heard", you also know when to just be there for a shoulder to lean on.

From us leaning on you for boat stuff to you leaning on us to "whine" (I definitely wouldn't call it that) we're all glad to be here with you in the neighborhood.

Above all since it could of been SO much worse certainly glad to hear everything is ok with the grandson and I'm sure time will heal your daughter's wounds from this ordeal since she has you to lean on.

Hey Wood, Sorry to hear about all that's been going on with you and your family. My wife's and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Tell your daughter your grandson is a survivor "BECAUSE" of her not inspite of her. You can't keep your eyes on your kids 24 hours a day. You did what you were supposed to do when you let us know your troubles. Now, according to James 5:16 we have a duty to pray for you guys. Life may be hard right now but things will lighten up. Just remember, untried faith isn't worth much but tried faith is much more precious than gold according to 1Peter 1:7. Read: John 6: 67-68. We got your back -it's gonna get better.

To ALL my iBoat friends!!!

Thanks so much for your kindness. GREAT NEWS!!! My Daughter appears to be moving forward. Pearce, her son, is acting so normal she is becoming more and more convinced that he IS OK and that there are not lasting effects. Her spirits are much improved and therefore mine too. I believe we are on the way to a brighter future. Thanks againg for your support. I fear we may have broken EVERY forum rule and if so I apologize. My Daughter even told me today to get the BF fixed so we could maybe go boating on the 4th!!! Looks like I've got some Glassin to do now!!!
