Tried to keep below 1/2 throttle but did have to crack it a time or two. Motor boat sounds are kind of load in the shop at WOT!!
Will be sealing the decking. Just wanted to do a test fit first.
I'm not much of a fan of GREEN! But... That shade of Soft Green is starting to grow on me. Sure hope it's not a fungus!!!!!
She's looking GREAT!!!!
Deck looks great.......
Fan of the green, big big fan.....
Dash & footwell 'kick' all look great too!
Nice job so far...looking good.
I'm actually okay with the green too, and I really like the finished wood! What did you finally decide to do with the windshield? It looks like you are getting close.
Still not sure what to do with the windshield? I dont have a problem with TRYING to make a new windshield but will still have to do something with the pitted chrome fasteners for it if I do?? Still thinking on that one.
Getting closer but still a long way to go & my carpentering projects are not cooperating so they are dragging on too. Going to Cabo San Lucas for a week middle of next month so that will delay progress as well. Still planning to have it on the water this Spring?
I would like to cover the deck with some kind of a non slip product. I have seen a few different products out there but sure I missed some.

I haven't used it @glass or tin boats, but I plan to use Durabak, a few others have used it, including Friscoboater @ 1 of his 1st 2 builds.
This guy went CRAZY w/ an Intergrip anti-skid product....
Custom Durabak was used by Sleeper6, here too, but his online pix provider went AWOL & he lost his linked pix. Might PM him & see if he has any major comments or concerns. He might PM you a pix or 2
DuraBak is awesome but if you are on a budget prepare for the pain:upset:
If you sealed your deck w/ Spar, you are sort of limited in what you can put on it. I must have missed that detail, Durabak & other 'epoxy or epoxy-like' coatings probably won't work well w/ Spar BENEATH/Under them. The other way would be different.
Porch paint, depending on it's specific makeup & the prep you do to the Spar (rough, scuff & clean really really well) may let you mix sand into the paint or spread sand onto the just painted surface. That would not likely be a long wearing surface treatment or keep the anti-slip grit (sand) embedded in it well enough not to show wear & traffic patterns fairly quick. Certainly not as long as Jas can expect his to, since he mixed the grit into the final application (or 2?) of epoxy on his deck(s), right? The grit is IN the epoxy, correct?
Nautolex or other marine vinyl may be a better choice.
Yah fellas, I really like the sand "salted" into my epoxy, it worked great! Actually, how I did it was sprinkle a generous amount of sand into the first coat of epoxy while it was still wet and then finished up with 3ish more coats on top of that (+ Rusto Primer and Paint for the Jet and Sea Nymph will be the same for the Islander).
I am really happy with how it turned out but it is an "alternative" so probably not as nice as DuraBak. I think I figured that it would cost something ridiculous like $300+ to go DuraBak for the Islander. No way man, not in my world. Sand and Rusto totaled hardly a few bux.
BUT!!!
I am running snap in carpet too. If not, I would have probably splurged for the DuraBak (or KiwiGrip).
Leisure, on your ultra nice cruiser type boat, I'd definitely be thinking carpet of some sort:encouragement:
