Great looking dash! The cherry dash & the green paint go perfect together...

Thanks guys.

Good call... That wooden dash panel looks Sweet!!!!!!

Have to give Woodonglass credit for that wood dash idea. I couldn't picture it but do like it now that I can see it.

Why? and Where do you live? I may have to do some dumpster diving in your area LOL :)

Keel is rotten and has major cracks, floor comes up with the carpet, the boat is past being safe on the water.

The only thing in the dumpster will be FG pieces.

The WS and fixtures have all been saved.

This is the opposite of "you can't judge a book by it's cover" because it sure has a nice looking cover. Looks like a real nice boat in the pictures. Maybe you can find a solid hull to put all the fixtures on.

Looking for ideas for the interior color. I dont care for the white that is there now & cant picture anything else?? Any thoughts?

Gluvit, 5200, floor plywood, & closed end rivets should be here tomorrow so I need to figure this out so I can continue on.

I used Valspar IH tractor paint from Tractor Supply, used the spray, but brush or roll with hardener would work also. The spray seems a little weak on durability.

It is light tan or cream kind of, but I'm color blind by choice. Should go good with the green and wood dash.

Tractor Supply now carries their own brand of paint, Magic. WOG has talked w/ a rep for Magic, & it's an extremely close, similar product, with it's own line of hardener.

His paint info link:

Also, is that a custom paint color or do they carry it stock? My boat is going to be mostly white, but I am thinking about using a light blue or light green as an accent color.

Thanks,

Not sure if you still need this? I had thown out all the empty cans earlier but did end up needing one more so here is the paint code.

BTW, that E price code on the label is not good. Spendy stuff.

Re: 1959? 18' Lund runabout restore

I made an executive decision on the interior colors. I have about a month's worth of carpentering projects starting next weekend so the painting needed to be done during the four days I have off for the holidays (along with all the actual holiday stuff). Painted the upper color & the rest of the area under the bow yesterday. Hope to do the lower color, which will be the same as the bow, today. The upper part of the splash well will be the mint green color as well... which might explain the funny tape lines at the rear.

Got the dash finished & installed yesterday as well.

Pretty good day yesterday. Got the interior bottom paint done on one side, splashwell cleaned & painted, transom cap installed, & steering wheel cleaned & painted.

I have serious workshop envy! That place is huge. I could probably get my boat in there with room to spare. That sure would come in handy with the two feet of snow that is supposed to fall here in the next 24 hours.

I suppose I wouldn't envy what it must cost to heat it though.

Thanks jig. Kind of winging it so you will know shortly after I do.

Think I spend more time there than I do in the house, especially during the Winter months. Its 36' X 56' with 14' ceilings & a lot of insulation. I spend about $750 to heat it all winter in a typical Wisconsin winter. Worth it to have a place to be when its 20 below outside:D

Re: 1959? 18' Lund runabout restore

Little time on New Years Day to mess with the boat so I started cleaning the aluminum that will be polished. The port side that I did some polishing on earlier will need to be done over because the paint prep for the top made a mess out of it. I hadn't done any more than the initial sanding on this side.

Getting there but a long way to go. Ordered some finer sand paper to get more of the fine scratches out.

Spent the rest of the day watching high speed snowmobile racing with my nephew's. A good time was had by all!!
