Good to read a new post from you. Maybe time will allow you to finish her up to make a splash or two this season. The new trailer looks good. Can't wait to see her with a windshield and all finished out!

Thanks guys.

Looking forward to the splash date. Sitting in it making motor boat sounds just isn't cutting it!

Re: 1959? 18' Lund runabout restore

My last carpentry project for the year has a bit of a delay because we are waiting on trusses so I did get a little time to work on the old Lund this weekend. Started making the new seats & hope to have them completed today? The boss wants to take the Sea Ray out on the river later today so that may delay the completion? Will post some pictures later.
Feels great to be working on the old girl again!!!!

Got one pretty much done & the second one about half done.

One of the old ones & one of the new ones.

And a very nice day on the river.

Bath day. Looked pretty bad with six months of dust all over it.

Got the seats almost done. Made new bases too because the original aluminum bases were in pretty rough shape.

The shop boss inspecting my wash job. It did not meet his expectations.... no scoobie snacks for me & double for him.

Looks great washed & gleeming in the driveway

Nice work on the seat fab! They look great...

Will the cushions be attached permanently to the seat & back or removable? If removable, will they fasten on some way? Like a strap(s) w/ a snap?

Thanks jb.

The seat bottom will hinge where the bottom meets the back so I can access the space below the seats. Going to use a piano hinge.

Its a '61!!
I knew I had gotten the registration for the boat when I bought it but couldn't find it. Looking thru a zip lock baggy full of manuals & stuff that came with it the other day & found the registration in an envelope inside the Merc manual. Looks like the original Merc manual & a boating safety brochure from 1972. Pretty cool stuff to read.

Awesome to have the original books! But, I'm sorry, if it's a 1961, I'm going to have to unsubscribe

Heck no, what's a 2 years difference make 55+yr old tinny? NONE...

Like the carpet choice

Re: 1959? 18' Lund runabout restore

Found a little time to get the carpet cut for the boat last week. Still moving forward.
The trusses for my carpentry project arrived last week & we did manage to get most of them installed this last weekend. Looking forward to getting this one done so I can concentrate on finishing the boat. Thought you might get a kick out of these pictures. They are taken from the bucket on the crane that set the 40 ft. attic trusses in place for us.... 60 ft. in the air. Awesome view from up there.

No nose bleeding. Saved the bleeding for my hands. I am very good at beating the crap out of them on projects like this.

I can only wish this was my boat shed.... I am just the builder. It is going to be an awesome man cave & does have an 18' X 48' loft space.

Regarding the original boat literature up there ^^^^ very cool, and I won't comment on the irony of the busty little cheerleader singing about personal flotation devices...

Got carpet on one seat base & the footboard last night. That was an interesting adventure. Must have been a little shaky this morning....crappy picture. Also, you may or may not be able to make out the hula girl to the left of the steering wheel. She is sexy!!

Thanks bonz_d.

The picture was taken on the Black River just north or Black River Falls, WI. Not big water but close to me & very nice for afternoon putting.
