arch,
Good luck tomorrow.
redfury,
I wouldn't even mine the orb in the sky if we could get some kind of a breeze moving. Hot, humid and dead calm.
good luck again arch.

Is it fixed yet, is it fixed yet!:D

Sorry you have been having to wait around for parts. Been there plenty of times. Don't worry about not making it to the lake Sautrday, you didn't miss much. It was windy and choppy as heck. But Sunday, well................I'll let the photo speak for itself. This pic was taken going across the water at about 30 mph, I'm sitting in the bow and pointing the camera down at the glasslike water. Woulda been perfect water for Miss Morgan. Sorry dude.

Now that's smooth water.

Yeah yeah rub it in! Lol, well I will be zipping across the lake this week while you are running the old nuclear reactor at the gas plant..... :D

Max seems to idle a lot better while hitting on 6 cylinders! I put the timing light on all 6 and he seems to be hitting nicely on all of them. I think this fall I will swap out the wires, number 4 has a nasty habit of zapping you if you touch it in the right place. I think changing out the $260 worth of switch boxes did the trick...but you never know till you get it on the water. I'm heading to the lake on Wednesday, so I will know for sure then. Hopefully I can now get the idle and idle mixture screws set correctly, then enjoy the cooler weather (it was 102 when I headed out to change the switch boxes!) Its supposed to be in the upper 80 and lower 90s the rest of the week....it will feel almost like a snow storm! I'll let you guys know what happens at the lake!

All right, I have Max humming along, and Miss Morgan all packed (life jackets, anchors etc.).....now just waiting to take off and head to the lake in the AM! Hopefully Max is fully cured and ready to tear up some lake! :D I'm taking both props, if I have a chance I may swap them out to see how she runs on both of them. Looks like the weather is going to be really nice!

Good luck. I just spent a pile of cash on my motor having it fully gone through. Turns out some moron slapped 140HP carbs on it which was contributing to my running issues. The mechanic rejetted and adjusted it and it runs 100% better, however I need to be on the lookout for the correct carbs.

Blackbery update, max ran much better, but no top end. Rebuilt the fuel pump today and miss morgan flies! Shove the throttle forward and point max in the. Direction you want to go really fast!:

Any idea on top speed? I can't wait to see it on a meet-up.

BBO, get another date together for everyone.

Re: 16' Nescher ski boat complete restore- SPLASHED!!

So here is the weekend update. Max ran a lot better with the new switch boxes.....but would still drop RPM at WOT. It would happen after about 4 or 5 seconds. So I loaded her up and headed back to my place....thinking about the fuel pump kit I left at home! I decided to stop by a mechanics shop who had worked on the Rude I used to have. Real friendly kind of guy :D....first thing he did was chew my *ss out for not rebuilding the fuel pump when I did the carbs.....then lectured me on how it might be the stator....then he suggested if I took the fuel pump off, he could dig up a fuel pump kit for it. So the next morning I took off the fuel pump, got the kit from him and rebuilt it. So here is the culprit, it has a teeny tiny hole that you cant see unless you hold it up to sunlight.

Once I got it put back together, I put Miss Morgan back in the lake.....holy sh*t Max RUNS! He ran great before, but now you better hang on! The bow goes strait up for about half a second, then you are on plane at 45! With a little trimming out you are 50 +/- (spedo)

The acceleration is great, Miss Morgan runs like a sports car now! I'm just pissed that the season is almost over now that I have her tweaked and running smooth. Oh well I have a list of improvements to do this winter.
