I hope all of you are at the lake. I'm taking this weekend off since I got to play last week! I'm going to work on catching up on things around the house...cleaning the garage....giving Miss Morgan a bath...and cleaning up the shop. I need to get that done so I can get her back in there for some more modifications next winter and tie up some loose ends. I need to get the gas tank made, swim platform added, wiring tidey up, interior lights in, cover for the battery/gas tank area under the splash well. I also want to add an area for the anchors under the splash well. I didn't think about it, but I have a couple small rust spots in the carpet were I sat them down....I the rubber coating had worn of on the corners of the anchors. I think I can get the stains out, I just need to come up with a dedicated area for them. Since I got Max up and running correctly.....they seem to end up in the back anyway! I also want to change out Max's water pump. So I still have a lot of work to keep me busy next winter!

Arch- Be honest- you want to clean out the garage to make room for the new boat

Well I started cleaning the shop this morning....notice I said "started", not "I cleaned the shop this morning"......this may take a while. I did run across some "parts" I need to add to my fall list of to do's.....battery disconnect, water temperature sensor, and a few other odds and ends. Funny how you forget about that stuff until you come across it!

Ok so I'm going to look at the sleek in the AM....anyone have any idea what a running 460 ford and Jacuzzi jet drive are worth? If I buy the boat I want to add a sterndrive, hopefully a Duo and tightly wound small block Chevy.

Well I went over early this morning and looked at the sleekcraft. The guy was out of town but he told me "I keep it in the yard, so go by and take a look at it". I'm guessing it sits out in the rain, so I was a little concerned about the floor. I was going to meet his son at lunch, but that didn't work out. So I went by early (its in a rough part of town....figured early morning might be safer, lol!). First of all it looks like a boat that is store outside with no cover...pretty much everything can be described as "rough". I was surprised that the floor seem solid. Someone clear coated it.....looks like they forgot the "sanding" step. About 50% of it has flaked off. Overall the hull isn't in bad shape given the age. Defiantly needs a paint job....which brings up the question of exactly how would you flip a 23' hull? Hmm maybe you could "hang it" from the gunnels? The trailer wasn't too bad, needs some paint and new tires.

I pulled Miss Morgan out of the newly cleaner shop and fired off Max....tinkered around with his idle some. I think its real close now, but you never know till you stick him in the water! He seems a little rich, but that beats lean! I can still smell the two stroke oil.....can't wait till next weekend! Nothing smells, sounds, or runs like a tower!

Tall dark and handsome on the transom. I'm glad Max is running good for you. Nice to have him runnin hard and not so lean...lol

Hey arch,
I would imagine you flip a 23 footer the same as an 18 footer just need trees further apart.
So, Have you decided yet on the sleek?
the trailer would have to be in really rough shape for you to call it bad. I still remember Miss Morgans. That was a wreck when you got it.

HD they are a fun motor, went they are running good they fly! And nothing looks like one!

No pics on the baot Mick. I have decided to pass on this one, I really need to find one that is set up for I/O....otherwise I will have a ton of glass work on the transom and filling the intake in the bottom of the hull. I would really like to find one with a decent white gel coat......that way I would have to flip it!

I also thought of a few more items for Miss Morgan this fall....need to rebuild the power tilt trim, it seems to bleed of internally over a couple of hours. I thought I was going crazy for a while.....I would tilt it up at night, then the next morning it was all the way down! I'm guessing it might be a bad valve or seal. Also I need to work on the trailer marker lights.....for some reason they are hooked up to the break lights! Guess that wiring diagram was wrong or I didn't read it right!

Mick we are never done with trailer work.....something always needs fixed on a trailer!

Here are a couple of pics from today's meet up at Eufaula! Robby A and his family, as well as the BigBoatinOK clan! I'm not sure what to call the event, but I'm sure we will come up with a name. BBO and have already started talking about having another next year, hopefully more people will be able to join us then! We couldn't have ask for a better day, 90 or so with light winds!

I have some video that MrsBigBoatinOK took, but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet....hopefully some of it came out well, I'll take a look at it and try to get it posted!

We had a fantastic time as well! I tell ya what, Archbuilder and RobbyA are a couple of great guys to hang with. You guys should have stuck around for a couple more hours. At about 5 pm, the water just laid down like glass and the skiing and kneeboarding was outstanding. Then it started raining lightly and we just kept on playing, and there wasn't another boat on the water. It was awesome! Anywho, I really hope we have a big meetup next spring/summer.
