Suzuki 2000 DT140 coolant flow switch

in these pictures you can see the factory temp sensor on the 2000 DT140 is onside of engine/head where as the "plug" that I was speaking of is where the older DT140 flow switch was. The loose red is for my aftermarket console mounted temperature gage sensor yet to be installed.

Suzuki 2000 DT140 coolant flow switch

This is the actual plug. same shape as the 88 but different head and NO wires. The 2000 I have has a cooling sensor mounted at near top side engine adjacent to the head with wires attached from the ecu/cdi unit. There are no other wires available from the unit for any other part. The Brownspoint...

Suzuki 2000 DT140 coolant flow switch

Did Suzuki in 2000 - 2001 DT 140 do away with the "flow switch" in the head and replaced it with a neoprene like plug? The plug has two mounting holes and is kinda a triangle shape and no wires attached to it and dont see any evidence of wire hole in the plug. I dont want to try to remove this...

    Suzuki DT140 1988 and 2001 DT140 trim & swivel brackets

Looking at swapping the entire swivel mounts and trim assembly from a Suzuki DT140 1988 onto a 2001 Suzuki DT140. I have search comparison and it very well looks like it can be done. I like the early model DT140 swivel mounts due to the fact there are more manual settings for the tilt angle and...

    Suzuki 2001 specific to DT140

Just a note about the above post. It seems a mystery if there was a trim sensor on the 2001 motor. Operating a boat with no trim gauge/ sensor to show the trim without looking back now and then is not my cup of tea. Sure I could run the boat without it but that would be guessing where/ whats...

    Suzuki 2001 specific to DT140

I have two older Suzuki DT115 1986 and DT140 1988 that I've have had since these years up to present. I bought a running 2001 "DT140" with cables and wiring have found that this outboard does not have the trim sensor mounted on the power trim / swivel mounting that bolts to the transom as the...

    2000 Suzuki dt140 trim motor

Well update. While the OB was in the full down position I applied 12 volts separately to each electric trim motor wires (removed them from the relays) and the green drives the motor as well as the blue but neither raises or lowers the motor. The motor continues to run non stop but not pumping...

    2000 Suzuki dt140 trim motor

How to manually raise motor that wont trim up (not trying to remove motor off transom). Exterior trim rocker switch on motor will only work on "down position". Checked the exterior rocker switch in "up" and "down" mode and both trim relays/wiring and all check in good in power up and power down...

suzuki dt140 2000 removing long upper shift rod

Thanks. The rod shaft with the golf like end OD diameter looks to be close to the ID diameter of the tube its in. I hope I can pull it out from the bottom once the lower unit is removed. I've had 3 of these DT140's 20" shafts (this is the 1st DT 140 fuel injected one) over the past 30 years. I...

suzuki dt140 2000 removing long upper shift rod

How to remove the upper long clutch rod from the engine once the top and bottom ends are disconnected. Seems it can't come out from the top due to the intake casing in way. So if the lower unit is removed will the long rod "slide" out of the bottom from the casing where the rod is in the tubular...

Suzuki dt140 non oem efi pump

Look the dt140 2001 model as the 97-2000 model "have " an electric pump in addition to the mechanical pump! look it up at brownspoint. Yes there is...look it up. Did you know the 97-2001 motors have an electric fuel pump as well as a mechanical one. That number is for the electric pump.

Suzuki dt140 non oem efi pump

Ok seems there are no threads on the forum regarding Suzuki efi low pressure electric pumps for DT115 or DT140 outboards except the oem ones. Has anyone used the after market USA hi performance pump model 15100-94900. Appears to be the same specs as the oem one. If so any problem with the pump...

    suzuki wiring diagram 2001 dt140

I just checked in on the forum today and seen your reply. Very glad you responded with diagrams. But They are not clear enough.....meaning lines and letters blurred. Could you try sending them again...maybe they will show up in a sharper image. I also zoom at the down low and makes it fuzzier Thanks
