Did Suzuki in 2000 - 2001 DT 140 do away with the "flow switch" in the head and replaced it with a neoprene like plug? The plug has two mounting holes and is kinda a triangle shape and no wires attached to it and dont see any evidence of wire hole in the plug. I dont want to try to remove this plug if that is what it is. On my 1988 DT140 there is a flow switch that I remove every few years to check the switch being free to move up & down in the same spot as the 2000 DT140.

This is the actual plug. same shape as the 88 but different head and NO wires. The 2000 I have has a cooling sensor mounted at near top side engine adjacent to the head with wires attached from the ecu/cdi unit. There are no other wires available from the unit for any other part. The Brownspoint diagram does not show this sensor on top side of my 2000. But shows only the older flow switch where the plug is. So I'm seeking someone who has a 2000 or 2001 that has the same kind of plug or one who has seen a 2000/2001 with this plug and no flow switch there. Thanks

in these pictures you can see the factory temp sensor on the 2000 DT140 is onside of engine/head where as the "plug" that I was speaking of is where the older DT140 flow switch was. The loose red is for my aftermarket console mounted temperature gage sensor yet to be installed.
