Removal of Flex Seal coating from hull?

Maybe try peeling it off while applying a "little" heat with a heat gun. Worth a shot before chemicals

    Looking for Glastron parts

Glass shop isn cheap either. I dropped a bit over $500 for one flat panel on my Chris Craft. But they came to the house and got it done while I was at work. Hugely convenient!

    Boat firing then dies

Theres a small diameter "clear hose" that runs from the fuel pump to the carb. Make sure theres no fuel in it. If there is, the diaphram is ruptured, and fuel is running past it. If not, check the filter in the fuel pump, in the carb inlet, water separator (if theres one). Pickup in the tank...

Making a pressure tester for Mercruiser outdrive

Amazon has Schrader valve /hose barb fittings pretty cheap. Not sure on your hose size

Making a pressure tester for Mercruiser outdrive

Thats why I use my cooling system pressure tester. I already have it, so I just swap the hose and fitting when I want to attach it to the drive. The hand pump and gauge works perfectly for the job.

Making a pressure tester for Mercruiser outdrive

I used a cooling system pressure test kit and adapted the hose to the drive with a fitting. Pump up to pressure, and let her sit overnight. Very easy

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Wow! Hack off tht platform and its an 18' boat for $90k! Grady or Parker are my wish list used or new. But they also carry big price tag new or used. The ole Chris Craft is just gonna have to keep running for now! I instaled a Minn Kota Riptide this year, so that should improve fishability!

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I bought my 1st and only brand new boat in 1999 at the Newport Boat Show. It was a 1999 Four Winns 258 Vista, fully loaded and the biggest Vp Duo Prop offered. The boat was beautiful for $39K. I couldnt even imagine the cost now. Its completely unaffordable

    1985 MerCruiser 190

The cheapest way out is to replace with an alterator kit. If you can find a regulator, they are big money. Plus, the stator probably wont be too far behind. Breeeworks has a conversion kit delivered, under $400. Plus Kevin is great to deal with, and he has other parts in stock you will be...

    1985 MerCruiser 190

This is a 3.7 190? There is no alternator unless someone upgraded. If you have the original system, time to upgrade

    Wood working questions

Should be fine either way! Lap joint would eliminate cupping at the joint. But the T&G should help also

    Wood working questions

Lap Joint. Glue surface will be strong. Butt joints dont take glue.

    Wood working questions

The only other thing I would conside is doing half lap joints when butting the ends of the t&g together. This would be a better joint than a biscuit. You would have a large face grain area at the glue joints

    Wood working questions

Yes to Titebond 3. I would think your problems with expansion with be on your two short end pieces as the grain will be running opposite direction. Thats why most furniture that has a picture frame type edging is a breadboard style end. I wouldnt use mitered corners, I would butt the long side...

Off-Season Float Battery Charging, 2 Batteries

I disconnect mine, put them on my workbench for the winter, and hook up a battery tender. This also kinda forces me to clean all the terminals and connections next season while hooking them up.

Staying warm on boat in the winter

If using a propane heater such as a Mr Buddy, mount it to a piece of plywood or similar and fix it the the deck so it cant move or slide. Be smart about location and what you put near it or around it, and always have a fire extinguisher. 50 degrees is not very cold, buy an electric sweatshirt...

1986 Mercruiser 470/170hp/3.7L Carb backfire, low vacuum, other weird issues

Forgive me if Im wrong, but doesnt this thread go back to extremely low compression which would suggest it needs a rebuild?? i would probably start there and not wory about feeding a dead motor fuel. Also, is this the original stator ignition and water cooled regulator?, or have you upgraded to...
