    1989 Mercruiser 3.7 L stater removal

Stator, not starter. He's trying to remove the alternator/flywheel/pulley (whatever label you want to give it, lol). I believe they are 3/8-16 but not quite sure

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

The bellows is round, the port it attaches to is oval. If you don't want to deal with it, just get an exhaust tube. The exhaust tube is designed to slip over the oval piece when drive is down

Buy a used block will parts swap?????

I have a 3.7. Had it rebuilt and after the rebuild i had a cylinder wall fail. I grabbed the 1st good block I could find (which was quite a bit older) and had the machine shop go through it and bore it out, etc. Swapped all the parts over no problem. Best I could tell, there's no difference in...

Any Helix 5 Chirp GPS G3 owners, I can't find the low water depth alarm selection anywhere.

My advise is to watch a few videos on menu and view settings or Helix for beginners. Sit at your unit using simulation mode and just go through the menus and views. I've heard that you don't want to run the transducer on the trailer or you can burn it up if not in water (not sure how true that...

Oh ****. I forgot that. It opens up a lot more options. Sorry. I have a couple Helix 7s, my buddy runs a 10 and a 15. All Helixs are basically the same

If you press menu twice, a menu bar will show at the top of the screen. There will be an icon of a bell all the way to the left of that menu bar. That is your alarms menu.

    Cabin air intake 2015 Silverado??

Word of caution. If there are acorns etc. sitting on top of the cabin filter when you pull it out, they all end up falling in your squirrel cage fan. There's zero clearance so the top of the housing scrapes everything off when you pull it out. Mine was a 2014 Silverado

There are a ton of instructional videos you should watch. Humminbird has a bunch out and a few independent guys do too. They will explain all the menu and settings options. There's a lot to learn

How to mount a trolling motor to Bayliner hull

Normal scenario, Most people make a plate to mount to the bow, or gunnel if you have a bowrider. Motor (or puck, if using a quick disconnect) gets mounted to the plate. 3/4" starboard or 1/2" aluminum plates are common. Every boat is different, you need to get creative. They make slide mounts...

    3.7 gets hot while idling

My 3.7 runs at 150 - 155. If I ever see it approaching 170, shut it down immediately! Why did the impeller get changed? Did the last one come apart and all the little bits are still in the system? Was the impeller installed properly? Was it run in the driveway without muffs even for a couple...

    Add cleat to trailer?

I always launch where there's a dock. I loop a bow line around the winch post a half dozen times, take off safety chain, let winch strap out till bow line is tight, take strap off and remove bow line when ready to launch. it comes off the rollers quite fast. Very simple operation.

And having the correct tools is a must! Engineers could have left a little more room in there for maintenance I would think..

Time for my first bellow change, tips?

Time after time I've tried using the Sierra exhaust bellows on my Alpha Gen1 and could never get it on, and if I did, it would pop off so I would put a tube on. This year I bought a complete OEM set and the exhaust bellows went right on and has been on all season with no issues. Coincidence? Not...
