    All I can think of, he has a shoulder on the alignment tool thats bottomimg on the bearing before it enters fully into the coupler. Isnt there a picture with dimensions of the correct tool floating around? Maybe in the stickies

    If the shaft only goes in one inch, you are only managing to insert the tapered end till it binds.     Perhaps you just wired it wrong. Hopefully someone on here can lead you down the right path. Im pretty sure (in my photo) yellow/red goes to remote, purple to tach, red to the fused power, the heavy yellow goes direct to my coil to (I installed pertronix and alternator)

    Nope. This is the original that I replaced. 3 poles, 1 shared. Dont go by wire position, not sure if its correct in this picture.

    I believe this is the one I bought. If I remember correctly,the 2 purple wires shared a 2 into 1 spade connector. I could definately be wrong about that, but I know it is a 3 terminal switch with one of the spades shared

    Yes, they are a good battery. Use them in all my vehicles. Plus they will charge and check them for free as often as you like. I think its one area you dont want to look for a cheap alternative. Will literally leave your butt dead in the water. And buy marine batteries, there is a difference!

    Tough in remote locations. Fill a 55 gallon rain barrel leave hose running into it and pump to the muffs. Might be just enough reserve
