    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

Most of us tinheads go the other way to avoid those rollers denting the hull. I wonder if you'll also have to move your axle since more load is shifted to the rear cross member. Another consideration is view-ability of your tail lights.

    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

Your logic is correct; less pitch will get you out of the hole quicker at the expense of some high-end speed. What RPM are you able to hit at wide-open throttle? Wow... something really munched down on that prop of yours! I'd say you definitely need a new prop with that much missing. It...

Cracks in aluminum hull repair options

that was a random internet pic of an entry level Lund (still probably more $$ than our last car cost new :)). Here's a vid of my patched-up tinnie:

1973 Starcraft SuperSport 16ft. restoration questions

+1 on the jigsaw for scrolling around curves/edges. For edges that aren't hidden (like a raised bow deck), I like cutting a little large and trimming to size using a belt sander.

    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

Good luck on your shakedown! in the future when running in a bucket, make sure you have the water level a few inches above where the lower unit splits in order to make sure that the water pump is submerged. ... I'd go up to those lower mounts to be safe. It sounds like it was peeing so...

Cracks in aluminum hull repair options

I wonder if outer chine supports of some form (heavy stock, a bench seat, etc.) were there and removed by a PO. I spy some fresh bucktails: If it were mine and the interior design allowed, I'd consider boxing-in the entire outer chine. You can even add compartments into the boxed area.

    1976 Starcraft Chieftain 18' OB - restomod

yeah i wouldn't stress; it's not going to have an effect on performance when especially when you're on plane. i had 2 of those from the PO power-loading onto a clapped-out trailer... a few kisses with a deadblow hammer and they're barely noticeable.

Cracks in aluminum hull repair options

There are a few reasons to avoid welding...an obvious one would be the proximity to the double-seam which has an adhesive sandwich in there. It melts at a very low temperature. So I strongly recommend that you use an external patch (riveted and buttered with 3M5200). You'll also want to drill...

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

Beautiful! I also used the interlux system including the Perfection topcoat. I continue to be amazed at the finish and resilience of it! I did get 1 tiny blemish when a buddy drove/ground the metal-jaw from a cutting board into my red side panel while fighting & releasing a big...

    198x SS-150 rebuild

Welcome Back! I also store my SS in a portable garage. you'll get a few seasons out of the original cover...when mine started wearing through, i sprung for the heaviest ShelterLogic offered. Another recommendation, add a vapor barrier to the ground. I used a cheap blue tarp and will soon...

    1974 Starcraft 21’ Holiday

+1 on drilling crackstop holes 1st before trying to do anything. that metal moves very easily (so much so that it's easy to over compensate) Having a helper hold a piece of wood on the outside and gently hit the inside with a deadblow and a piece of wood under the rib end. you can also work...

    Just a few guestions

that's really interesting about a 58 sticker. I'm still not convinced that she's not a >=1962 Holiday. :ROFLMAO: (a '63 has the hatch with old style bowed windshield) I'm fairly certain that StarCraft didn't manufacture a boat that large in '58. from the '58 brochure...Jupiter being their...
