    Just a few guestions

Welcome! Nice rig! this looks like ~ 1962 18' Holiday; dimensions are listed if you'd like to verify. Judging by the brochures, in '61 the 18' Holiday didn't have the side rubrail (or maybe it's there...just difficult to see in the pictures). The deadrise looks different as well however.

    SS16 Side Cushion Attachment Methods?

Many Supersports use carriage bolts sunk into the backing board before the foam & vinyl are applied...then bolted on the backside of the gunnel aluminum. the holes in the aluminum are elongated to allow forward/aft movement which comes in handy to tuck the cushion under the bow trim.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Yeah a working tach is pretty important. I like to confirm the tach pole setting by measuring the stator output frequency with a multimeter. I believe you have a 12 pole stator in that engine...so each revolution would be 6 full sine cycles for each revolution. As an example, if I'm running...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Sorry to hear about your motor woes! Yeah most likely unburnt 2 stroke &/or fogging oil. Your RPMs are going to be a few hundred higher on muffs than when you have the backpressure in the trash can. I'm not entirely sure of your year/model values; my '75 70HP is 1400 on muffs, 1100 with...

    1978 Starcraft 22' SuperSport Project

StarCraft on the Water!!! Congratulations! Outstanding work and amazing transformation! Great job! If I were to do an I/O to O/B, this is the approach I'd take; the engineering is less involved for a DIYer than the large lever arm that an O/B pod introduces.

    1952 StarCraft Mysteries

Welcome to the Starmada and thank you for sharing the story of your family heirloom! This is one of the oldest Starcraft that I recall seeing here and I don't ever recall seeing one made of galvanized steel! In 53, that might have been named a Starlite ("available in Aluminum, Stainless and...

Somber news for iboats forums members.

Rest in Peace GaB. I’m absolutely gutted by the news of your passing my friend. Anyone restoring their clapped-out “tinny” always felt that Don was looking over his/her shoulder providing sound advice and constant encouragement ...no matter how long it took to make it seaworthy again. Now...

Good progress and excellent work Paul! The patches and chine supports turned out great. Having a willing riveting partner is worth their weight in gold (or in this case, diapers! :ROFLMAO: )

marching along! I'm not sure about the windshield...when underway, that's less glass covering your face which is even a problem on stock starcraft setups. On the flip side, your mooring cover will probably fit a little better with the added rake...maybe? most of us run those control cables...

    Help with a drainage problem

I added clean-out ports to my 18' SS that allows me to access every single limber hole with a butter knife. It took a bit of planning with regard to the deck cutting, structural supports and foam but I'm glad that I did it.

    New Journey

i kept my motor pad bare & polished. It's mostly decorative and hiding some of the imperfections from the pitting that occurred under the old wooden motor pad. I like paint 1st; I believe that the 5200 will adhere better to properly applied primer/topcoat.

    New Journey

i'm in the less-is-more crowd. fill all of the pits prior to painting but when it comes to putting down the metal plate, I only used 5200 around the through-holes.
