    Honda 50 Ticking/Whirly Sound

They COULD leave them available, so people could open and read them for reference, but write protect them so a new topic would have to be started.

    Honda 50 Ticking/Whirly Sound

Flywheel is pretty easy to remove and check for issues.... Be surprised if they don't shut this down because it's old....

    Buying and Selling Online

My "lawn mower" is a Kubota diesel. I'm pretty sure it WOULD care, or at the very least I would not gamble on a mix of old leftover oils....

    Boat reclaim

I'd call it more of a project. Not something you're going to get done in a hurry. What needs to be done is going to depend on where you live. Start with some sort of bill of sale from the guy that gave it to you.

    Pontoon drains

That being the case (full of foam), I would open the plugs and leave them open until getting ready to launch the boat again.

I want to replace the metal on the side of my pontoon

An alum. siding pro will have a sheet metal brake. Using that, the raw edge can be folded over (how much depending, but at least 1/4" I would think), which would also reinforce that edge making it a little sturdier and less likely to rattle. I haven't done it, but the vinyl wrap plan sounds...

2003 Honda BF50 LRTA wiring help!!!!

Earlier, I went out and grabbed a control and a wiring harness, brought them to my desk and tried to line them up on both your harness and your control. I couldn't get anything to match up anywhere on your diagrams. I knew the smaller motors were different, but I've never messed with them to...

    What is she?

Glasspar G3? If so these were pretty popular back in the day. Think water born go cart.... There was a bunch of them around in this area.

2015 Honda 50HP suddenly dies (sporadically)

When you first turn the key on while it's "on break/not running or starting" do you hear the fuel pump running for a couple of seconds, then shutting off? Filters (high pressure and low pressure) have been changed? Does the motor seem hot?

    Moving 3rd toon back

There's a LOT to this question. Without knowing a lot more about the boat I'd be afraid to even guess. Lifting strakes? If so, location? Diameter of center pontoon relative to the outside toons? How does it sit in the water now? Etc. etc, etc.....

    Neutral safety switch

The boat manf did not make that control console. They installed it. Your project is to figure out where they got it. Could have been Yamaha, could be a 3rd party. A few pictures, from a couple of different angles, might get you some guesses of where to look.....

    You might try West Marine

    Props, so many options

So your call, depending on preferences. 15 for towing, 17 for cruising? There was never any doubt about a slower hole shot.

    Props, so many options

If you're hitting the limiter at 55-5700, betting your tach is misleading you. I work on quite a few of these 40-90hp 4 strokes, and any I've driven will turn 6k+ pretty easily. That's been my experience anyway. As mentioned, I don't like turning them that fast, the motor just sounds too busy...

    Props, so many options

I was thinking 15" might be small as well. You don't mention anything, so no idea where the priorities lie in the most frequent use of the boat? If you aren't frequently pulling a tube or skiing, a big hole shot isn't that important. That being the case, the motor is rated to turn 6k, but at...

2003 Honda BF50 LRTA wiring help!!!!

Well, not good news. I have no clue what you have going on. I checked 2 different used harnesses that I have here, and a used late model control (no choke, 4 idiot lights) and none of them even come close to what your diagram is showing. The 4 wire doesn't match either side (control or harness)...

2003 Honda BF50 LRTA wiring help!!!!

From where I'm sitting it sure looks like they do? You need the big round one on the motor to plug in, then I think just 2 of the ends on the control end need to plug into the control. The 4 and the 6 wire?

2003 Honda BF50 LRTA wiring help!!!!

I refurb these things (40-90hp Honda's) as a hobby (love bringing a thoroughly dead motor back to life, no matter what it takes), then sell them for mad money. I've done a BUNCH of them!! I assume control compatibility from anything previous to the fuel injection motors (and they will work on...

3rd log for 2017 Sylvan pontoon

Given a choice, I would add a larger diameter center 'toon. They allow the boat to bank into a corner better. I would not even consider the time, money, and trouble without some sort of lifting strake plan. Still in this "perfect world" the new center tube would have a transom rated for...

2003 Honda BF50 LRTA wiring help!!!!

Best of luck! The motor, if all is right, is a little jewel. It's made a LOT of friends since it came out. So this initial set up hassle will prove to be well worth it I'm sure.
