    Any Archers, archery hunters here?

These old shoulders can't do a compound anymore. Love the crossbow! I only hunt from the ground and the shorter limbs are convenient. Last spring while turkey hunting, this guy was fun to watch! this might have been him the fall before as a button.

    Towing boat with snow mobile!

That video sure makes me feel old and soft 😭 In my 30's That would have been fun, also the reason 1 of mine was an outboard. But now if the wind blows more than 10 mph, I don't go on the water. Justifying it as "older and wiser " Good news is haven't had to hail the C.G. in 20 years! Not...

    OMC Stringer 3.0 belt replacement

At least Merc engineers had the forethought to put a spacer between the mount and block. I assume just for this.

    Mounting transducer near outdrive?

Thanks for the reassurance 🤗 Agreed, doubt it'll matter and it'll be easier to route the cables from the same place. I just got rid of all my older Impulse units, nice equipment but bulky. Can't even find those combo ducer/speedo on eBay anymore. Or the heads w/o Loran. Thanks again

    Mounting transducer near outdrive?

Thanks Bondo, I read that when you replied to someone back in 2012 or 14 I think. At trolling speeds, were you happy with the sonar quality? Do you think the temp/speed wheel would be better on the port corner? It would be more protected in close with the transducer.

    Mounting transducer near outdrive?

A Mercruiser, I could see possibly a collision. This Electric shift is 8 inches from the transom and doesn't pivot from a gimbal or trim in. Transducer is 3 inches, can't see how they can make contact. Do bubbles really have an impact at trolling speeds? This isn't thru hub exhaust.

    Mounting transducer near outdrive?

Hope this isn't like an oil or efi topic, so here goes. My Bennett trim tabs gives gives very little choice for a transom mount skimmer. I want to put it between the outdrive and tab. Also want to put temp/speed wheel somewhere. Maybe outside port tab like starboard stuff. I've read...

    Installing electric downriggers?

Need advice on connector type at transom and if I should wire directly to second battery or battery switch. Has upgraded higher amp alternator. 1-2-both-off switch and diode charge isolator Riggers are old obsolete Walkers (I know, but they work 😲) I have an obsession with old stuff. Have...

    Electric shift coupler

Kenny, Similar question about intermediate driveshaft. A new to me 1968 210 hp TUE-17R. I can feel slop when I twist the intermediate ball gear. Feels like wear in the coupler. Will I need a coupler like this? Also the driveshaft is listed as a one piece shaft and gear (can't find one...

    Electric shift coupler

I'm trying to go the other way. Hoping to use it with a 78 SBC 350. I carefully drilled holes in the 78 flexplate also had to shim crank pilot hole. Was curious if this was a stock item or customized.

    Electric shift coupler

No idea, I assume mid - late 60's because of the small journal crank bolt pattern

    Electric shift coupler

Has anyone seen a coupler like the one on the left? Spline count is the same in both. Believe it came off a small journal SBC. Also it was attached to a flexplate not a flywheel.

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

What's shelf life? Earlier this year, I drained 40 gallons of 20 year old gas from parts boat. Been mixing 50/50 With fresh. Running log splitter and mowers no problem. Last year used 10+ yr old gas mixed 50/50 in 91 F350, ran fine. Imho, old gas can be used, just have to get used to the...

    Dual battery switch and isolator

It's still going to full output. Going to wire single battery, no switch, no isolator. Something wrong with voltage sense, so I'll see if it's somewhere else in the system and not the dual battery stuff.

    Dual battery switch and isolator

I plan to use a second battery later, mostly for electric downrigggers yet to be installed. Only using 1 battery now while working on engine that hasn't been ran in 20 years.

    Dual battery switch and isolator

These are new to me and I think I burnt the isolator. Guest 2111 switch and 2401 isolator. Using one battery only and connected to 2 position of switch. While trying to do carburetor work on a 1968, 283ci 210hp OMC. After running long enough to reach operating temp the volts climbed to full...

    Is it a 283 or 307 ?

Still haven't tried to start it, but I know what it is from model number. TU = 307 😁 KU = 283 Hope I can save it. Seems like a powerful mid size SBC.

    Is it a 283 or 307 ?

Manual is on the way. Still wondering what this is, Model TUE 17R / 210 hp / 1968 New to me boat. Haven't tried to start it yet. My plan was to install one of 2 fully OMC dressed gen ll 350's I have. One may be a truck block with OMC 245 hp cam & heads. The other is a 165 hp truck engine...

    Is it a 283 or 307 ?

When I try that website, the book will not go into cart. Same thing happened when I was looking for a 73 OMC manual. Must be my internet connection I have better luck on eBay

    Is it a 283 or 307 ?

Agree, haven't been able to find a service manual for this yet. Closest I have is for 1973. Any idea if it's a 307? Based on the model number?
