    Bellows ?

Yeah, when I did my bellows job, the drive side of the exhaust bellows popped off not long after the install. I looked at it and decided to just leave it since the whole job was just a pita even with all the proper tools. I don't notice any difference in sound or performance, but my engine is...

    A disaster waiting to happen

I feel bad for what looks like a nice tractor. Too bad the person transporting it is a numbskull.

Mercruiser Alpha One Gen I Winterization

You absolutely have to get to those drain plugs. If you don't, you will be buying a new engine come Springtime. The oil filter can be relocated by using a remote oil filter kit. That should have been done before the new engine was shoehorned into the engine bay.

    A disaster waiting to happen

I was so shocked I didn't even think of taking a video. I'll be ready next time. And I'm sure there will be a next time!

    A disaster waiting to happen

Even without thinking about them driving away with the lack of stern straps, I couldn't believe they just left the boat sitting like that on the trailer. The port side was crushing the trailer fender and the starboard side was resting on the trailer frame. Even if you were stone drunk, you...

Centering boat on trailer (solo) without trailer guides? or DIY guide advice

Can you post a picture of the boat sitting on the bunks? How many bunks are there? Mine has 4 bunks, each 42" long. 18 foot bow rider.

    Battery discharge. ...normal?

I did the same thing and I switched out my bilge pump to the automatic type because I used to keep the boat in the water, but I trailer it now.

    Battery discharge. ...normal?

Sorry... when I said drain, I meant battery drain. You're good concerning the bilge pump since your boat sits on the lift and doesn't reside in the water. So, just shut off the battery switch when not using the boat.

Looking for specific hardware (small drywall anchors)

Wow! Good catch! I forgot about clecos! That is the untimate best way! I have a set of those for when I used to do bodywork. They were a necessity when replacing quarter panels. I don't know if they are cost effective for the OP if it's just one job. But, indeed would be the best way.

There are also lots of different sizes of pop rivets and most pop rivet guns have different adapters.

Looking for specific hardware (small drywall anchors)

They make smaller toggle bolts that use a 6/32" bolt. I have a bunch of them. They might actually be called 1/8" toggles, but they use a 6/32" bolt for sure. There are 3/16", 1/4" and 3/8" toggle bolts also. I'm sure they also come bigger. I guess you are not concerned about dropping the...

    Battery discharge. ...normal?

I was getting a similar drain. I suspected the memory of my stereo, but your situation may be different. Since then, I always kill the power from the batteries, plus I put a switch inline with the power wires of the stereo. If I were keeping the boat in the water, I would have to keep one...

    Boat Ramp Disaster

He might have been ok if he had disconnected the winch strap! That boat was going nowhere since it was still hooked to the trailer! That little Jeep had no chance, especially since the driver kept backing it into the water.

    Boat Ramp Disaster

That boat was way too big for that little jeep. The winch strap was still connected to the boat! Duh!

    A disaster waiting to happen

Saw these two guys retrieve a boat and it was a disaster waiting to happen. It was one of those Sea Doo boats. I'm guessing maybe 18 foot or so. The one guy backed the trailer in on an angle. The tow vehicle was jackknifed. The boat almost floated away from the other guy while he was...

Centering boat on trailer (solo) without trailer guides? or DIY guide advice

You might be submerging the trailer too deep or your trailer isn't properly setup for your boat. I put mine in with about a 1/4 of the forward bunks sticking out of the water. My fenders are just under the water surface. I idle toward the trailer, cut the engine, coast in and the bunks...

    Hard steering

Mine was hard to steer also. I struggled with two hands and I have power steering. I was fooling with all the moving parts at the engine side to no avail, cleaning and greasing. I disconnected the cable at the engine and discovered it was the cable. The wheel was still hard to turn. Replaced...

    New boat owner!

I have a 2003 Bayliner 185 bow rider also with a Karavan trailer (with 4 bunks). Check your bunks. Make sure they are solid. I just had to replace the wood for the bunks. Something many people might not notice since they are completely covered with carpet. I noticed the two forward bunks...

    Mercruiser Thunderbolt ignition Question

You may be right about the spark, but make sure your choke is working properly. Recently, my choke was not closing when cold and it was real difficult to start. When hot it was fine, it was just when it was cold. I adjusted the choke and it starts right up when it's cold.
