    I used white vinegar on mine and searched ebay for everything that doesn't come in a rebuild kit. I used brake cleaner initially but let is soak till I saw it bubbling then used a toothbrush, rinsed and repeated.

    I can backup Chris' statement. The previous owner of my boat did a re-deck and when I removed it the rest of the structure was toast! If you read through many of the rebuilds on here you'll see "the floor is the last to rot" mentioned somewhere.
