More advice.....1708 would be a real PITA to get to lay down over the top of a stringer, and is really not necessary. Save the 1708 for the tabbing. CSM should be used for this since the goal is to waterproof, not build bulk or strength. @tpenfield gave me an idea that really worked well and...

Lol, my crappy phone didn’t know the correct spelling of crappie.

    1978 Ebbtide trihull restoration

No need to use CSM before you use 1708. I use the CSM when I want to encapsulate and don’t necessarily need strength or build thickness. An example would be using CSM to waterproof your deck. I use 1708 for tabbing and building the thickness in the transom. A single layer of CSM will be plenty...

    Sterndrive Hinge Pins Question

Very true. A little red goes a long way. Heat is really the only thing that will soften it. Good tip.

    Toy-Nation.....

I’m thinking if you had white stuff down there it would be disastrous. I remember being in Dallas and having a little sleet that accumulated on the roads, cars skidding and crashing everywhere. No one knew how to drive in it.....it was bad. I used to have a Honda V65 Magna I totally restored...

    Toy-Nation.....

I live really close to West Virginia, and they recently made it legal for side by sides to drive on certain public roads. A lot of guys that had 4 wheelers are trading them in on the much larger side by side. Me personally, I like the 4 wheeler as it is a bit smaller and easier to get through...

    Toy-Nation.....

Nice Yamaha. Looks very clean. I still have to change oil in the chain case too. My Polaris is a 2 stroke so no oil change there. I rode an Arctic Cat 4 stroke and a 2 stroke Skidoo last year, friends sleds. I bought the Polaris at the end of the season. Looking forward to seeing if it can keep...

1987 Power Play XLT-185 - floors, stringers, and upholstery

Yes, the thickened resin will fill all the imperfections in the transom. When you clamp it, all the excess will squeeze out around the edges.

To each their own. I’m all fresh water, and no dock. I don’t mind putting mine up in a dry garage. Though someday a private lake dock is definitely in the cards.....

    Toy-Nation.....

Looking forward to this season. Didn’t have a lot of snow in the Adirondacks last year. Just need to get new studs and I’m ready.

    hello new guy here

Welcome to IBoats. Aside from a local boat salvage, you may not have much luck. What exactly are you looking for? What year is the boat?

    Marine Growth Took Over.-

Agree.....and an oversized garage helps.... though whoever keeps making these messes needs a stern finger wagging!!

How long to idle engine to circulate fuel stabilizer through system

+1 @Rick Stephens.....I do it this way. I also like to use the Stabil fogging oil in the carb to kill the engine just as an added precaution. Admittedly this is probably overkill since my boat spends the winter months in my semi heated garage. Seafoam in the tank.

How can I fix the water leaking at the stern for my boat?

Follow the advice here and really look into the root cause of the leak. Putting silicon on the transom of a boat to hide a problem is not a good idea. That’s not a fix. It would be like putting duct tape on torn bellows.
