1989 Mercruiser 2.5L 120HP motor overheating trouble shooting

Pull the head, they are prone to warping and bad head gasket. Once head is off, check cylinders, if not great, time for a rebore. Often a head rebuild and straighten with a valve job will fix things, but a thorough inspection is needed. If you have overheated that head, for sure it will be warped.

Old tandem pontoon trailer question - no brakes

How much weight are you towing and what are you towing with ?? Most states require trailer brakes when towed weight exceeds 2500 lbs. Many vehicles with towing pkgs have 4 wheel disc brakes that are made for heavy duty stopping, so that weight can be exceeded a little.

1999 Crestliner 2050 Sportfish transom raising

As long as the well is self bailing shoukd not ve a problem. That extra 5" won't make that big a difference. An awful lot of work for little gain overall. Better to consider load balance, what weight can be removed from the back and moved forward. Can't believe how many mfgrs put heavy fuel...

Can skeg damage cause vibration/noise on plane?

Very true but then the damage goes back up the line into the lower unit, which becomes far more costly than replacing an aluminum prop. All depends on how big a gambler you are.

    Bunk rollers

I prefer to use the wobble roller units as they fit/ support the hull better. On aluminum boats you can't have to many rollers. To few and it will dent the hull.
